And has anyone noticed what camera he was using?
Looks like an MX to me.

and I agree with you mike, I won't pay to look at something a council has spent millions of our money on, I've already paid through my taxes once!

Fortunately I can't think of anywhere in Bradford where cameras and photography are banned on council open land. Museums and galleries are different, but there's copyright issues there.

The invitation is to all members of the public George.

Once a member of the public breaks the bye-laws, which are there for public safety, they're asked to leave.

If they don't then they can be arrested by an authorized officer and may be charged with a breach of the peace.

If councils just let anybody do what they wanted our parks and open spaces would be like bomb sites, full of rubbish, abandoned vehicles, tetherd and loose animals and so on.

Good councils employ officers with common sense to patrol these places. Bad ones employ idiots!

I work for a good employer, and we welcome everybody to use our(public) facilities. those that don't abide by the book we ask to leave, so far it's only been one photographer in 22 years!

As for the right to photograph public property, I agree with you there George, it's usually the police that stop people not us, we have more sense!

most beaches and parks are classed as public places.
Not quit true. The parks, recreation grounds and cemeteries in Bradford are owned by the council and the general public are 'invited' to use them.

Any council officer can request that a photographer stop taking pictures, but only request.

We only approach people who are taking pictures around crowded playsites, which can be tricky!

To date we let most people take most shots, but refuse requests to pose for them, those shots could cause us problems as officers.

Oh and by the way, the last photographer we stopped at a playsite had travelled from York and was a registered paedophile! The boys in blue had every reason to take him away.

Must add I have some VERY good French friends. Their views on life are so laid back...

Well you have a 24-50 right, so do you often shoot with it near;
- the wide end, then that would be 28mm lens
- often in the middle, that's closest to a 35mm
- or the long end, that would be 50mm
Good idea Stefan!

That would help and save some cash. I use a manual28mm from time to time and find the results are fine.

Years ago we used to play this at our local, unfortunately after 6 pints of Old Speckled Hen my hand, eye co-ordination went out the window.
Along with the Boules?

I've spent a few hours watching the French play this game, it's the only time I've seen a Frenchman run!
