Just when everyone is supposed to be planting trees to help relieve floods Warwickshire CC has uprooted a half mile avenue of mature trees just to widen the road into Leamington Spa, resulting at a bottleneck where it narrows again. I do wonder where they find these boneheads.
they're all graduates with no idea of the real world, and probably no driving experience.

They're 'improving' a local junction where turning right is apain..

..how are they doing it?

They're taking all right hand traffic from one road around a loop to the left and then right across a complicated set of traffic lights..

...now...

..at a fraction of the cost they could have installed filter lights, left the roads as are and improved flow 2-300 per cent.

But that wouldn't justify the planners huge wages...

Is it to early for a beer?

It's still blustery here, the conservatory roof's leaked and, not weather related, we have no downstairs lights!

Still, there's beer in the glass and I'm still breathing

Just sobered up from the wake on Friday night, I just hope that the rest of Europe will still welcome us 'foreigners' when we visit.

Now where did I put that French Cognac, ah there it is next to ths Limoncello and Schnapps...

There's a bottom shelf at the Co-op?

I thouhgt I'd have seen that as I crawled through to the check out!

Just back from a local market with 3 pheasants and a kilo of mixed game meat for pies/casseroles. That's my sort of shopping.

One of the birds is now sat in some red wine and herbs awaiting he stove lighting so we can cook it for tomorrows evening meal.

* forgot to say the birds are dead and plucked, not alive...

Don't you just love banks?

When my son was trying for a mortgage they tookhis rent into account...

...knocking it off his available cah. Result was an offer that wouldn't buy a rabbit hutch!

As he said at an interview when he applied again, "The rent will be what I'll be paying the mortgage with"

He got a much better offer that time and now has a house of his own, which with running costs is still cheaper than his rent was...

He is sure there are more grandkids to come. Maybe, if they have four legs and a tail...

The best sort Gwyn.

Too many people I worked with retired for a better time and ended up baby-sitting!

Neither of my kids are planning a family...

...yet.

When they do though, I'll almost certainly be touring somewhere
