Sorry to hear about your friend Rob, we're all, as you say, getting older and are no longer as 'resistant' as we used to be.

That's why this lock down in the current pandemic makes sense.

Although the youths who feel indestructable may be out acting stupid it still sems to be working.

As for those youths, well the 'Darwin Principle' may come into play..

..hopefully.

Ah, Fur Elise...

Been chopping up garden waste so it will go in the compost bins.

It was going to the tip , but now they're closed here I needed to do something with it and the hedgw trimmers have done an excellent job of reducing the bulk.

Next years conpost will be going in the bins after lunch, when Mrs HG gate home, she can help and save my bad back..

No sun here, so the exercise today was a walk to the supermarket for supplies...

... all well except that I left the bread on the packing shelf!

Wonder if I'll be able to collect it tomorrow?

Hardgravity, how envious I am you have moorland nearby with curlews!
Unfortunately we can't visit there at the moment, and after retireing I don't get the chance to sit in the middle of Ilkley Moor and do my paperwork while enjoying the wildlife..

..still..

...when all this is over.

Nice to see wildlife coming out after the winter.

We're still waiting for the curlews to arrive, the starlings mimic them as soon as they hit the moors nearbye.

Oh, and I've just taken a delivery from a local brewery of 50ish bottles of beer.

God bless Saltairre Brewery for their new delivery service.

Just catching up, my how the thread's grown!

Good to hear everybody's Ok, and as for scrap wood..

..some neighbours took a fence between them down and passed the wood over to me to burn..

...but, some went in the stove but most is still in the garden as the images show..
