By some odd quirk, I seem to have one surplus to requirement[must have mislaid it at some point and bought a replacement]. If you pm your address you can have it.

To be fair it does say Sigma in the description. I bought one of these at a similar price and use it a great deal - nice and sharp and zips into focus [if a bit noisily!] - if you're on a tight budget it's not a bad option.

The Tamron 70-300 is an af lens and available in Pentax fit. As others have said, it's a great budget buy as it can be picked up cheaply second hand. It's main flaw is a tendency to purple fringing in some conditions - eg. sunlight on water. Other than that, it's a good place to start, and, bought sedcond hand, if you have funds for something longer/better later you should get most of your money back if you re-sell it.

I've had a couple of Tamron 70-200 f2.8 lenses and it's certainly a good lens with respect to IQ - not quite as bulky as the equivalent sigma. The AF is a bit noisy but it's a faster performer in Pentax form than in Nikon [at least that's what I found]. The best alternative probably comes down to when and whee you'll be using it. As has been said, if 70mm is your usual longest distance, even something ending at 150mm could be a good option. The sigma 50-150 f2.8 is a super lens if you can find one - i snapped the last one up as soon as it appeared for sale in the classified section! Another cheaper option is the Sigma 50-200mm OS HSM with the same near silent af and very good image quality - cheap new or second hand [i was going to sell mine but rather pleased I did'nt as it's small and light and very useful]. As has been said, the 55-300mm is recommended - lightweight and above average results for this type of lens, if a bit noisy to af.

Lens sold subject to payment. If the 50-150mm had'nt appeared at a very good price there's no way I'd have sold this, but having used the 50-150 all day last saturday to photograph a dog show, it's so much easier on the arms!

I really wanted a 50-150mm which don't come along very often. As soon as I bought this 70-200 one turned up for sale! So as i can't really justify both, if anyone wants this for the price I paid I may as well sell now. It's in very good condition for an older lens, I put a filter on as soon as it arrived. Works perfectly, nice and sharp - not HSM but fast af on my K5-lls. Both end caps, tripod ring, lens hood.
