And lens tested!

Works perfectly as it should. As usual with this model it seems to make better pictures than the the test reports would lead us to expect.

I have had one before but traded it in. This one definitely makes better looking images with sharper detail on the K-3 sensor compared to the K-5.

Very pleased to deal with Aleks1298!

Wi-Fi enabled cards?

If so, lucky you! I just did a quick Google on the specific brands of WiFi enabled cards that I mentioned.

Check out prices on the non Pentax 16GB FluCard, and the 16GB Eye Fi card and see what I mean.

(You won't shake me, I have Pentax FluCard with it's remote control and I am a convert!)

Apparently Pentax say it will work with the K-3 and all subsequent dslrs

- no help to those of us with older gear....

And it suggests that they do not share Smeggypants view that "WiFi should be built in"

They have been on sale for two or three weeks now, and UK firms are competing for the lowest price so it may pay to hang on a while.

Obviously if it's something you have no use for, you won't buy one, I just happen to like gadgets (and had the cash available for once!)

I do some "tabletop" work with my camera on a tripod, using a Pentax right angle finder and a wired remote release. The retail cost of those two genuine Pentax accessories was more than the £99 the Flucard cost me, and so far I am finding the Flucard to be the better solution.

I don't need the Pentax-DA 560mm F5.6 ED AW lens, but some people do, it's horses for courses!

Yes, that would work BUT the standard 16GB non Pentax Flucard is £60 plus and the 16GB Eye Fi card is £75.

Surely any Pentax K3 owner would be tempted to lay out just a bit more to get the full FluCard functionality which is ALREADY DOWN FROM £129 to £99 to £89 and falling....?

-and it is a LOT more functionality!

FluCard- Well done Pentax!

In my mind, the DSLR, like the SLR before it, is a SYSTEM camera, that doesn't come equipped with every lens and accessory, but consists of the basic camera body to which you add lenses and accessories as you wish, or as the need arises.

Hence FluCard.....Clearly TREK currently have the hardware, software and technology to make it work, Ricoh/Pentax will be in a commercial partnership of some type to make it available initially in Pentax.

It could be that patents and licences currently tie up this technology to FluCard only.

That situation probably won't last forever, but I can't blame Trek and Ricoh/Pentax for taking advantage of the situation now.

I don't think it will be long until all DSLR have built in wifi and maybe even sim card capability, the DSLR market is losing out to camera phones exactly because of the ability to post images directly to face boo, instagram twitter etc. Thats the future of DSLR technology in the short term I feel...
Cabstar- I would agree with your post if you substituted the words "Digital Compacts" for "DSLR".
All that I have seen in the photo press suggests its the lower end of the compact market losing out to Mobile Phones, rather than DSLRs.

May I suggest the Mid range and upper DSLRs are owned by enthusiasts that own them for the flexibility and versatility that both camera phones and compact cameras usually lack?

- And I bought a HUDL tablet from Tesco and am pleased with it so far, and use it with the Pentax FluCard.

All impressive so far!

Hi I am interested in buying a WHITE Pentax 35mm f2.4 lens at a reasonable cost, perhaps you had one as part of a kit but don't use it? Has your local camera shop got one that just never sells?

Thanks for reading.
