I think Boots Processing is great. The email address is now [email protected] and the phone number 0192 64 63 605. Sadly Boots no longer sell them, so I bought about 100 earlier this year on the 3 for the price of 2 deal. I think it is rebranded Fujichrome 200. Anyway it produces fine slides. You can save money by posting 2 or more films at the same time. PS I gather that Lomography now sell 110 print film, so I can use my Super 110 again !

I have an NEC NP V300W projector with a full size HDMI input. The mini / normal cable works with a Canon DSLR but not my K7 which gives a scramble and distorted picture. The projector is fine in all other respects - as good as a slide projector with Kodachrome with images over about 4 Mb amazingly. Has anyone had the same experience ? Has anyone any suggestions ? (I can put the SD card into a laptop successfully but a direct link would be nice.)

It's faster to send to Fujichrome to Leeds (while there is any Fujichrome.) What is the best bet for film and processing post Fujichrome ?

A Fuji film I sent to warwick in error 2/6/10 - with the right postage - seems to be lost forever. Leeds seem ok with turnaround but don't number the slides sadly. Thanks for the Kodakchrome tip - out with the Retina II to use those up while it's sunny. I still like slides - but once I can afford a good digital projector will probably change my mind now that Kodachrome is gone.

I've noticed that a lot more visitor attractions now seem to allow (or at least not ban) non flash photography. I took some pictures in the V&A the other day, and welcome the NT's lightening up. At Duxford everyone was snapping away - with flash too. I think there still needs to be continual pressure to remove unreasonable restrictions but do look for the signs first. I have paid a few euros to take pictures of churches etc in the eurozone; if I enjoy the building it seems fair to pay for its upkeep. There are also plenty of places where attractive pictures can be taken freely.

The stereo microphone off a tape cassette recorder should work.

Coming from an ist DS the K7 is much easier to operate - much less use of menus speeds up trying various combinations. Some things (the digital filters and in camera processing seem a bit unnecessary) though.

It's the water resistance that I value - and it looks as though the only WR lenses that fit are the 16-55 and the 50-200. Is that right ?

Again for spontaneity I want to be able to carry the camera in my hand which is ok with the 16-55 but a little cumbersome with say the Tamron 18-250. The old PK 40mm f2.8 fits well if I abandon some of the automatic features.

Exactly as you say - it's the WR 18-55 that came with the K7. I already had an 18-55 with my DS and it seems noticeably better, albeit not exactly in laboratory conditions.

I haven't yet tried the other AF or MF or evem M42 lenses in my collection.

Is a high quality 16-45 WR available ?

I have only had the K7 for 3 weeks and am a bit sore at missing the £250 cash back deal ! However it's a great camera and the water resistance makes shooting in the rain much more spontaneous, although the WR lens is a bit of a let down.
