K-7 LCD screen stuck pixel

I recently purchased a K-7 and grip from SRS. After trying out the camera straight away I found a stuck pixel on the LCD screen that is always lit green when the screen is on. SRS have agreed to replace the body and have arranged for a courier to come and pick the camera up. Just wondered if anyone else has suffered stuck or dead pixels on the LCD screen? Hopefully the replacement will be okay. I may just be a bit picky, I tried to forget about it but I found myself looking at the pixel every time I looked at the screen.

Other than that the camera is amazing, just need some new SD cards as my cheapo class 6 ones aren't up to the high speed continuous shooting or video.

It's not a "common" fault but stuck pixels can happen from time-to-time with any LCD panel. I think the screen on the K-7 is sourced from Sony so blame them...

No stuck pixels on my K-7 LCD. I don't think you're being too picky I think I would have wanted a replacement too.

Regarding the SDHC card, I find the SanDisk Extreme III Secure Digital Card works well with the K-7 for burst shooting and video.

I received my replacement K-7 today and all is well, no more stuck pixels. Excellent service from SRS.

I also received a new Panasonic 16GB class 10 SDHC card which works very well with the K-7 if anyone else is interested follow the link I decided to give it a go as it was half the price of a sandisk extreme III card and I have heard good things about Panasonic SD cards.

In future you could try massaging the area around the stuck pixel (I'm being serious ). This will fix a lot of stuck pixels. It works best on computer screens, where the screen covering is a little flexible. A little 3 minute massage and you can cure most of them. I've done it myself several times.

but the rigid screen cover does not react to pressure very much

Agreed, in the case of the K-7 and probably most camera LCDs the rigid screen protection layer will mean massaging will be in vain

Thought about massaging the screen but like golfdiesel said it's impossible due to the hard cover over the screen.

After a bit more testing of my new K-7 I have found a problem with the sensor this time

There is a big wide band across the images at a higher ISO but it's also visible at lower ISO against a dark background. Hopefully SRS will replace it again for me. Third time lucky.

I've had mine from the initial release and not has a single problem. I suspect the great majority are like that too.

I really wouldn't worry if you're thinking of going ahead it's a fantastic camera

I still want one after having my hands on one in Glasgow but there have been a few problems with it I think,

When are you planning to pull the trigger? I see you had a change of heart with your gear sale

Well I would like one but I don't need the video, I changed my mind because of what I paid for my gear and because I am using my X70 more and more these days, I guess I'll just start using it all again,

Jack.

I hardly use the video myself so don't let that bother you, it doesn't affect the cameras still capabilities
Having said that on the odd occasion where I have (just because it's so convenient) it produces really quality 720p clips

Just like to add apologies to Richard for wandering of the topic slightly

I had a dead pixel on my Olympus soon after purchase...it was disappointing, but as I had bought it from an overseas duty free, I could not have sent it for replacement/ return! Now I don't even notice it!
Yes, the Panasonic cards r BRILLIANT, I think SRS do them, I got mine from there. Not as heavily marketed as Sandisk, but just as good, I've had absolutely no problems.
