Apparently this one is a true one:

Yep, I've come across that one before. It's achromatic to a ridiculous extent, probably more than I need. I just want a really-well corrected lens for the visible spectrum. Something more like the Voigtlander APO Lanthars (but not the 90mm, it doesn't match the other two imo).

That lens does look like a beaut though.

Isn't mega apochromatic just a term?
What's the difference with a normal apochromatic?
Mega apochromatic is just a term I just made up. I am looking for a lens with minimal longitudinal chromatic abberration. There are very few lenses like this available, but they tend to be extraordinarily sharp and with a very smooth bokeh. This is at a cost, usually, since it involves using exotic glass, often calcium fluoride, which doesn't come cheap.

I think adapting one is out of the question, you need to work so precise and you are change elements of a lens so who can say that you don't need to adapt the other elements as well, you are probably looking at reconfigure the complete lens... good luck with that

You normally don't need to change elements of a lens to adapt it. If the lens to focal plane distance is longer than a Pentax K-mount, then it's mainly a matter of swapping the existing mount with a K-mount. I'd leave the lens alone for the most part. Sometimes an adjustment of infinity focus on the lens is needed, and sometimes you need to add shims to make sure the lens isn't focusing past infinity at the infinity mark (no big deal to me, so I don't normally shim).

does anyone know of any mega apochromatic lenses that are available for the k-mount.

i'm open to adapting lenses too.

other than the voigtlander 180/4, voigtlander 125/2.5 and leica 180/3.4 (with a leitax conversion) i can't think of any...

Hi RMC75, sorry, but the TC is now sold to ISO.

Sorry that I've been bad at updating the thread—I've been travelling a bit.

hi all,

this is still available.

also on the look out for a 50/1.4 fa swap, if that'll help with the deal.

also, i'm happy to post the item anywhere within europe. in the case that we don't deal face to face, you can wire the money to my account, or we can deal with paypal gift, or i can send a paypal payment, so long as you cover the fees.

this is a unique option, and if it doesn't sell by the start of next week, i'll offer it elsewhere.

Still available! I took a quick picture of it just now. Sorry for not putting it up earlier—I wasn't at home when I wrote the ad initially.

Hi all,

I have one of these that I don't use. I got it shipped over from Japan by someone at the other forum a few months back, and it just sits around.

I'd go as far as calling it in mint condition. It has a Japanese warranty card, but no receipt. Original box and papers. Used once for test shots. It focussed quickly and accurately on with my 200/2.8 on my K-7.

The asking price is high: 260 GBP. I went through a hassle in paying above market because I had to cover customs fees and postage from Japan, so this is reflected in the price. But, in exchange, you are getting an as new item.

I can do face to face sales in London next week or the Netherlands otherwise.

PM if interested. First come first served!

i have one which i hardly use, but i bought it for a bomb since i got it straight from japan and paid for it dearly with customs charges included. i'd only be willing to let it go for 260 gbp, which i don't think is unfair given the fact that it's rare, and that i paid a bit more than that for it myself.

if you're interested, let me know via pm. i can do a face to face sale in the netherlands. or even in london next week...

Hmmmm... I might give that a go here and now, got an hour or so to spare this evening. Thanks for the link...
no problem. i posted about it on dpreview too.

it's really a sensible idea. i have no idea why people bother with lens align etc. when, in my opinion, you get something with as good an accuracy for nothing.

i don't like the printed sheets because of the uncertainty as to angles/whether your focus point is centred properly.

a brief tip for the link: autofocus on the screen, see if the interference pattern is visible by switching to live view with some maginification if necessary, make an adjustment, then go again.

it's a fairly quick, painless, accurate and free way to set yourself up. i don't know why this isn't the standard way of making focus adjustments.

by far the easiest method i've used is the one on this webpage:
