No. To adjust the lens you need to go to menu: option 26 AF Fine Adjustment.

Select On and then either do apply to all, or apply one.

The camera will remember up to 20 different lens.

Oh John, most of the 'naysayers' were on the other forum, not here....

Today I found that installing the new firmware has made a lens which was focusing perfectly with 1.02 need an adjustment of -8 under 1.03 to focus correctly.

Mike-P exactly the same with my 50mm f1.4 - LV is perfect, using the viewfinder is ff...

I'm fairly certain it affected all K5's Simon, just there were a lot of naysayers out there (blaming user error!)...

It was really visible on fast lens at low light. Slower lens hide the error because of the larger DOF.

I found an excel spreadsheet on the other forum which calculates EV for you.

Quick question. I was calibrating one of my lens after the firmware update.

LV was spot on but when shooting through the view finder it was FF. So I make an AF adjustment on the lens of -8 and through the lens now is nearly spot on but then surely that would then kick the LV out? or doesn't the LV apply the AF adjustment? It doesn't appear so as now both are spot on....

I'll see what I can do this weekend Smeggy.

Smeggy, unfortunately the tests I did last night with my fast lens showed a similar FF still. I think not as pronounced but still there. LV however will still nail it spot on.

Let me know (by PM if necessary) how your discussions with Chris go.

My Pentax 50mm f1.4 and 28mm f2.8 are still front focusing in low light... not as badly, but still very noticable. Go above f2.8 and I think you have sufficient DOF to loose the FF.

Using a spyderLenscalc my LV is still spot on, but change it to TTL (and not changing anything) and the camera makes a minor AF adjustment which it doesn't need.

Is mine just a dog or can anyone else confirm the same?

What are your findings then Smeggy?

Mmmmm I did a couple more tests and whilst its better its by no means perfect.

I'm finding similar to Smeggy around EV2 now LV is still spot on, TTL is still out of focus....

So a little bit and a little bit
