iWeb made it very easy for me to get some pics on the web, but as with most Apple apps, there is a lot more to the app than they advertise, which is good, as total beginers, like me, can get good results, but also people with more experience can get something out of it too.
I must admit I like looking at the pictures the people on these forums post. There is nothing like looking at other peoples pics to inspire you. I know I could look elsewhere for pics, but being a Pentax geek, here is a good start. Maybe there could be a new section for users pics or links to web pages of Pentax users ? How about each user posting one picture, a favourite or a memorable pic or one that is special to them and why ?

I'm still finding my way with iWeb, but I see what you mean. I must re-vamp the site over the next few weeks. I was just keen to get something up and running.

George, I know what you are saying, I was just desperate to get some pictures, but with work and weather conditions restraining me, the first chance I got I was off. You can see from the original pic of the cruise ship, the mist was still lifting, and the pic needed a lift. I must admit I'm not keen on pics with a lot of work and some of these are a bit over the top, I'm going to the West Coast of Scotland next week, and restraint will be my by-word.

The Adobe Lightroom interface was just an experiment, I'm not sure I like it that much either.
I put the same pics on page 7 here, using Apple's iWeb app. I quite like this one and it is very easy and quick to use.

I was working in Shetland last week and hoped to get a good few pics, unfortunately, for the first four days, a North Sea mist decended on the island and it was so thick you could not see more than 50 feet. On my last day on the island I managed to get a few pics as the mist lifted. I used a little Photoshop effects to put some colour into the pics, as the sky was still a bit white from the mist, and the original pics seemed a bit washed out. I used Adobe's Lightroom to make a flash gallery, and you can see it here if you are interested.

I used a DS and a 18-55mm D lens, I also had my old Pentax 75-150mm zoom and a Tamron 500mm mirror that I got second hand. I was surprised how well the 75-150mm performed. I used it a lot on my Z1, now I must try a few more shot with it on the DS. It seems to be quite sharp and show good contrast.

I'm not trying to sell anything here, but just had a bit of a clean out and came across these Pentax books. They are both about 80 pages and in good nick, probably date from the 70's, I was going to chuck them in the bin, but there may be a Pentax collector using these forums, so, no offers they are free to first request, I'll stick them in a Jiffy Bag and send them on, just get me a beer next time you see me, ok ! If I see them on ebay I want 2 beers !

I must admit I am leaning toward the 10-17, the 17-28mm on my Z-1 was also a fish-eye at 17mm,with an angle of view of 180°, so I know what to expect. Next question, best place to get one ? Anyone know of a reliable shop in Central Scotland ? Should I go mail order or internet ? I don't mind paying a little extra to get it in the local area, the only luck I seem to have mail-order is bad luck. I may ask for a 'price' from the local "High S.t" guy ?

I use the 17-28mm wide angle zoom on my Z-1, and really loved the 17mm end. It was my 'main' lens on the camera. I now have the DS digital and miss the wide shots I used to get. What lens would give the equivalent of the 17-28mm, on the DS, the 10-17mm or the 12-24mm zoom ?

Going to have to agree with you about the 'older' lenses. I went into Glasgow City Centre today, to pick up my son, he was late, so I had an hour to kill, I went walk-about, dropped into Quiggs camera shop, and came out with a second-hand Tamron 500mm mirror. Price and quality both good, I just need to find a way to reclaim the money I spent from my son. Not much chance me thinks !

How did Microsoft get from the 'c' prompt with flashing cursor, to "Windows", they must have bought an Apple and ripped off the GUI !!!
