I'm with you, amoringello, I do try shoot for the competition, it does stimulate creativity, but, as I work away from home a lot, it's not always possible.

So far I would say it's 70/30% - 70% shot for the competition, the rest from 'stock' -

Hi Clarky, no I don't have the Sigma.

I have the Pentax 17-28mm zoom, which I used a lot with my Z1 film camera, this gives the fish-eye effect on 35mm, but not on digital. I found I was really missing the extra wide angle, so went for the Pentax 10-17mm.

I was tempted by the Sigma, as I have the 105 macro, and it is superb !!!

There was a link somewhere on the forums to a comparison between the Pentax and the Sigma super-wides, can't find it at the moment, but I thought the Pentax gave the extra 'punch' I was looking for.

Looks like a picture from the "Hubble" John, you even got a super-nova and an orange alien spacecraft

I'm starting to get to grips with the 10-17mm Fish-Eye, well at least, I think I am.

The favourite place was easy, Strathconon, in the Highlands of Scotland. Generations of my mothers family were brought up here, and I have been taking photographs there for over 30 years.

Now the hard part, which photograph do I use, ( from 100's and 100's ) ?
