These are superb lenses for the money. Can't go wrong if you don't have a long lens or want excellent 1:2 macro.

My first real 'walkabout' kit was the Tamron 17-50 and Pentax 55-300 - that'll cover 99% of all eventualities.

Nowadays it's the 15 Ltd / 43 Ltd and 77 Ltd. However if you forced me to take only ONE lens then it'd be the Sigma 30/1.4.

I have two macro lenses. The Pentax 35mm Macro Limited and the Sigma 105mm DG macro. I moved up to the 105mm as I wanted to take insects from a distance, which is not really practical with the 35mm unless they are very tame.I am very pleased with both lenses. Both are equally sharp however for some reason I find the 105mm more sensitive to the depth of field and takes me longer to position and hit the sweet spot accurately. Probably age and shaky hands.
It's not your age or shaky hands - the longer the focal length the shorter the DoF, you get roughly 10 times the DoF with the 35 over the 105mm !

35mm @ 20cm = DoF of 0.86cm
105mm @20cm = DoF of 0.06cms

35mm @ 50cm = DoF of 6.1cm
105mm @ 50cm = DoF of 0.57cms

35mm @ 20cm = DoF of 25.6cm
105mm @20cm = DoF of 2.60cms
