Thank you Pauly - she's a gem. Always very sad when a beloved pet's life has run it's course. I always had Labs & then a Doberman but now we have this GSD ... and my brother in law has a brilliant GSD too ... I'm sold on them, wonderful pets / dogs / guards.

Stefan - CBA ? Maybe
I'm sure the Viv will be great.
I've the Voigtlander 125mm f/2.5 very high on my list...
Why must one be on sale right now...

Yes this for me is the crux ..... will, not necessarily the improvement in quality, but the difference in output be worth it ? I love working with narrow DoF and that is why I'm so tempted.
You have the Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 and some very nice primes so i doubt you really need it but that it's more a matter of wanting... Would a nice FA77 or FA*85 not be a better investment then jumping ship?
The MF will hopefully come one day but it won't be the 645D, i find it too slow... i'll wait for a faster version.
Stefan - CBA ? Maybe For the K5 I am looking at getting the Viv S1 85/1.4, no AF and maybe not quite as good as the FA*85 but then it's around a $1,000 cheaper - which is almost the price of a used D700 here (US$1,000 - 1,500).

She is a really friendly dog, loves people. Though you maybe would not want to hug her today - as you can maybe tell she was very wet with that inimitable wet doggie aroma !

SMC Takumar 50/1.4 (except #1 with the CZJ Sonnar 135 at f5.6) - all at f1.4 and within 1 metre of my front door ! The hole in the fence is where my dog (Xiao Fei Dao - meaning Small Flying Dagger) chewed a couple of pieces off !

Lots of shots I love but #14, 23 & 26 are my favourites as these three really grabbed me.
I think you said you shoot in jpg don't you ? With a K20d and 50-135 ? I would consider flipping over to RAW for those shots where you see a huge DR caused by shadows and bright sunlight - as I think in e.g. #6, 11 & 14 you could pull more from those shadows.
Fascinating set and I really enjoyed really your narrative too.
N.B. Posting too many photo threads ? Not for me but then I spend a lot of time on forums (especially in the rainy season - such as this week which is the height of the Plum Rains) ! However maybe if you space your threads out a little more you'd get more response (eq. 2 per week) ? Whatever, I'm happy to see them every day

I am toying with the idea of buying a used D700 and a couple of lenses to start with (I have had a good offer for my K7 and will be selling it), rather than a 2nd K5 and can't make my mind up which way to go.
I would go all the way and get a medium format and keep the APS-C as light versatile travel kit.
I've handled the gorgeous 645D, but to be realistic .... i would be murdered in my bed if my wife saw me drop that kind of cash on the 645D & lenses ! So it's really out of the question as I wouldn't want a non-digital MF camera.

Like that shine in her eye when looking up with ball-in-mouth. Top dogs the shepherds.
