These are wonderful - the first two especially. I love the DA15 and you have used it to excellent effect here - well done!

I agree it's hard to pick a favourite but I may also favour number 1

It certainly looks different to our little village of Cefn Mawr here in Wales
Thanks Stuey !

6 frame panorama. Trialing the Autopano software - I'm going to have to buy it !

Taken with K5 and the Contax Zeiss 28/2.8. ISO 80 / f8 / 1.6 secs. I recommend you view this fullscreen. BTW it is straight .. it's just that the river bends here.

You probably need to download it full size from my SmugMug site to get an idea of how sharp this is ! I may remove the watermark and print this at around 48" x 12".

Three beautiful shots. Hard to pick a favourite. Probably #1.

Superb examples too for anyone looking to improve their night time photography. Just look at the skies. Each one has colour and is not just black
Thank you Alan - very kind of you to say those nice things.

I'm also very pleased though that someone noticed the sky as I will admit that I was watching the cloud formations for about a week before I went out as I didn't want a totally clear or totally cloudy night and although a little more cloud came over than I had bargained for it wasn't total coverage.

Thanks for taking the trouble Kevin. My initial thought was that the water surface was generally messy (apart from directly in front of the swans. I was looking to minimise this mess. I'll take another look when I'm at home tonight
It's a difficult one to process Alan. Can't get much brighter whites than Swans (and there is more detail in the Swans in your version) and as I said you have to protect them, but the shadows are very dark. Maybe using a brush to selectively pull the detail from the shadows rather than a global adjustment would work.

Alan ... I've downloaded the shot to play around with it a little and found that what was disturbing me was the lack of detail in the shadows. I've pulled the shadows a little but this copy is too small and I've introduced noise into the shadows, you may be able to pull the detail without noise on the original if you like this processing ... or not !

Great shots, especially the 1st with the lights trails.

If I remember correctly it was the observation deck of the Jinmao tower me and the wife went to last year - impressive view down the central column of the building too!!

Simon
Thank you Simon !

Yes there are observation decks on both of these buildings. Jinmao on the 88th floor and WFC on 99th & 100th floors if I remember correctly. great views from all of them on a clear day (though best save your money, go to the bar on the 87th floor of the Jinmao, and spend the 15-20 GBP viewing fee on drinks with spectacular free views in the evening !

Very impressive.

I rather like No. 2 because the buildings are unnaturally close together

What lens or lenses and settings did you use :
Thank you Hyram.

DA*15 Ltd for all of these (just much tighter cropping on #3). From 3 to 8 secs and all at f8, ISO 80.
