This is in marked contrast to Gallery images which almost always attract comment, some of it very useful. I'm beginning to wonder if it's just me?
So, I would be interested in what the members think, is it best to post in 'Your Photos' or on the 'Gallery'?

- To be completely honest, David (and to my shame) , i didn't know there was a 'Your Photos' post, where members could post pics!. I thought the gallery, was the only place we could do that. However, that said, if it is only for those members looking for a more constructive critique on others work, then i, in my very amateur capacity will not be doing so ( i will enjoy looking though!) and will stick to giving my more humble opinions in the gallery. Having quickly glanced through some of the pics posted in 'you posts', i have to say, that the work posted appears of much a better quality than some of the SAME pics also posted in the gallery. In fact the gallery really doesn't seem to have done some of them justice,- ( perhaps different file sizes..? not sure). Anyway, i know this hasn't really contributed to your post/enquiry - sorry, but thanks for making me aware of the 'your posts' section!. Hi, i bought my pentax k5 around 5months ago, brand new, and the firmware in it was ver: 1.01. I know this is an early version of the firmware, so my question is,- should i update it, to the latest version?- if so why. I have had no problems with my camera thus far (touch wood),i'm just wondering if it would benefit at all from a firmware update, or should i leave well alone? any advice? thanks, - mary.

thanks everyone for your input and advice. think i will be going for the 40mm,(it now, definately looks the better of the two for me). i might try and see if i can get the 50mm at a later stage (or a bargain price - if im lucky!). - thanks everyone!

john, would you say the 40mm is as, sharp as the 50mm?.also, the photos ive seen taken by the 40mm look to have amazing colour throughout. they really stand out, to me anyway, more so than those ive seen taken by the 50mm. - or is that just me? - thanks.

hi, i am trying to decide which of these two lenses to buy -(the smc fa 50mm f1.4 or the pancake 40m f2.8 limited). i currently own a pentax k5 and have the 18-55mm and 50-200mm kit lenses. i want a small sized lens for portraits/and street shots. my first thoughts were to go with the 50mm, but ive recently seen pics taken by the pancake lens and am very impressed by it. im also considering one of these two, as they are in my price range!. anyone out there, who has experiance of either/both?. love to hear what you think of them!!!-many thanks!

thanks for your replies, in response, the card i used was a sandisk extreme 16gb class 10. no, i did not notice the problem when i took the shot, only after, when i tried to review them on the cameras lcd screen. and kris, i didnt know it was the film camera section when i posted my original comments.

the type of file used was jpeg.i downloaded the photos by clicking and dragging them from the pentax camera folder into a folder i had created. also previous to this i had been playing around with the pentax digital camea utility 4 software supllied with the camera, could this have played a factor in anyway.
