Sorry, yeah, i went for the EM140, just waiting for some more lens adaptors to arrive and i'll give it a whirl.
My girlfriend is into Macro/Nature stuff, so i'll have a chance to use it for that as well as in our (tiny) little studio at home for portraits.

Well, i bit the bullet & ordered one from SRS - fantastic deal on these at the moment and, again, fantastic service from the guys there!
Ordered yesterday and it arrived this morning! Looking forward to giving it a quick try out this evening before i really try to get to grips with it. Fantastic looking piece of kit - complete with a lovely carrying case and a couple of lens adaptor rings too.

Ok, i'm thinking of getting hold of a ringflash for portrait stuff. Ive seen the various tips & hints online that suggest buying mega-bucks pro kit with truck battery powerpacks etc...hmnn, just a tad out of my league!
However, i'm not convinced by the £25 EBay 'adaptors' either. My question, i guess, is this, are the dedicated/compatible RingFlashes worth it for simple home/outdoor portrait work?
I love the fashiony look of the lights and would really fancy a go at this. Plus, looks good for macro/close-up work too.
Waddya reckon?

I use the Lithium AA's, they're brilliant. They just seem to go on forever. Ok, so they're pricier than 'regular' batteries, but i must be getting well over 600,700 shots before i even think about checking if i need to change them. I'd had a set that i'd taken about 300 shots on & then went to a 'live music' workshop - carrying a spare set in case. Managed 400 shots on that evening alone and still the batteries were plugging away fine.

I use a 1957 Zeiss Ikon loaded with 120 B&W film now and again. A lovely little camera - pop out lens on bellows, £9.50 from ebay

Only get 12 shots per film so it really does make me stop and think about what and how i'm shooting. Fantastic quality prints come back and i find that i'm far more disciplined about my digital photography as a result. Yes, digital allows you to knock out 100's of shots in the hope that one or two turn out well....but i'd rather knock out 100's of shots where 10's or 20's turn out well, that's where the film shots help.

Oh yes! moving boats from moving boats is a tricky one as i can atest to!
However, sometimes it goes right. Here's one i did that managed to get into "Yachts & Yachting": link

Should be a good day i reckon...i'll see what i can do

No salt damage as it's an inland, freshwater lake (Phew!) .... so, really, just fast shutter, keep shooting, short/mid dof courtesy of zoom & just keep going?
I'm hoping the organisation will buy some as i set up one of those photobox 'pro' galleries

My sailing club is hosting a pretty important round of a junior national series this weekend & i've been asked to have a go at photographing the event. I'll have access out on the water from the RIB safety boat so will be able to get fairly close to the action.
So, apart from "make sure the camera is secure to you!!!" any tips?
K200D & my 1st thought is to stick with my 70-300 lens as we'll probably have to stay a reasonable distance away in fairness. Should allow me to get some decent 'close-up' shots from whatever distance we'll be on the boat.
Fast shutter & plenty of continuous shooting i reckon.

Try here.....from 'cheap cheap' all the way up. I got a background stand from here & it does the job for me - in a space previously occupied by a 'study'.
I also purchased a single stand light.....they accidentally sent two - and only charged for one! - double cheap
