I guess its good to mention they type of macro photographies you do? As the working distance play a part on the focal length!

From Pentax Primes, there are the DA35Ltd, DFA100 (with/without WR)
From Tamron Primes, there is the SP 90 Di

All these offer 1:1 magnification.
If you like 50 mm FOV, you could go for either pentax DFA 50/2.8 macro or relatively cheap Sigma 50/2.8 macro.

I think all of the above mentioned are very good. The only question is what focal length you prefer and what is your budget limit.

testdasi, sigma 30/1.4 is tack sharp in the centre even wide open. Some say it gets softer arround the corners, but never noticed it while I borrowed it from my girlfriend. It's a lovely lens, very useful. But I tend to use my 35/2.4 more often as it is more convenient, lighter and sharpness is about the same. If u desperately want shallow DoF, then go for it - there is no better option at that price, but I am not sure I would crave for it if I had the 35 Ltd... Especially with the K-5 where there is always enough light

If I were calling the shots, Pentax would release DA24/2, DA28/2 and DA50/1.7

I think the logical step forward from DAL 35/2.4 would be DAL 50/1.7 for under 200 GBP

They don't look like screw fit though, so whether they will fit or not we don't know.

Don't lose any more could be good advice! A tip: use a small ring pouch, as used by jewellers, and store tiny parts in that when not in use. I use such a thing for the hotshoe cover and it avoids it becoming mislaid.
That is a good piece of advice. But I didn't misplace it. I lost it the moment I screwed it off the body as it fell out of my hand... Bad patent IMO. It should be a plain rubber cap, attached to the body.

John, I agree with you about buying the correct part. But then again, I get 10 aftermarket ones for the same price, so I can loose 9 more and still don't have to worry
