So would the workaround be to overexpose the scene and burn the rocks?

Here is a shot from near the Jungfraujoch in Switzerland. The two climbers (just visible in the middle of the frame) were very small on the bleak ridge.
Any comments (especially re. the contrast rock vs. snow) would be appreciated.

Back in the analogue days, I was a Canon-guy (AE1), but I learned to shoot on a K1000. A couple years back, after breaking my 4th point-and-shoot digital camera in 2 years, I figured it was time to get a DSLR. At the time, the D200 was the best bet for a geologist on a budget. It was a great camera, and an excellent introduction. It was sad to see it go, but I love the K7.
In response to i-Berg, I had the stock DA18-55 and an old 50/1.8 left over. I used the opportunity to get the WR lenses with the new body, so I now also have the DA18-55WR and DA50-200WR. I am impressed with the sharpness of the 50-200, but the 18-55 is a bit soft for me (still quite nice for a stock lens).
Thanks for all the welcomes,
Kevin

I have recently replaced my (sadly) stolen K200 with the K7 and realized that there are a few extra buttons!
Looking forward to discussions.
