Went out with the 50mm macro on the K7.

Ended up at Secret Harbour and was stuck with the focal length. So when not in Rome....

So, I decided to drive back to get some suitable glass.

Upon returning I caught these..

I am very pleased with the distant surfer.

As for the diagonal shots with the 50mm f/2.8 macro, how else do you get an image caught? Use the whole frame and sod convention! but that's only my take on it.

Is it the high UV or me?

It was Safety Bay!!!

c&c welcome.

Very nice series overall. I, too, like the distant surfer but I'd be tempted to crop a bit of the sand off the bottom so that the wet sand almost goes into the bottom right hand corner. Only a minor tweak!

Best wishes, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Hear, hear Gary - nice work. The glass turned out to be very suitable indeed.

"Distant surfer" is beautifully caught, Gary. A good set overall. As usual.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Another vote of confidence from me for Distant Surfer. It's a beaut! Wouldn't mind having a go at some of that myself...

Thanks Gareth,

No vignette added, it's basically out of the camera and sharpened a little.

Ultra wide have self polarising effects in the edges.

This is probably a question of inexperience, but no one has mentioned the fish eye-like horizon curvature. I like it quite a lot, but it is a bit confusing for me. Is that straight from the 50mm, or post-process?

The fish-eye curvature is after Gary went home and collected another lens. Not sure which one but it was capable of shooting at 14mm.
