Very nice, every parent will be delighted I'm sure. I would be inclined to clean up the backgrounds by cloning out the creases etc. I liked the idea of getting a preview of the framed print, something I haven't seen before.

£2.06, what sort of price is that? I would have thought anywhere between £5 and £10 for starters which brings me to another question. Are you selling to these kids' parents or are they just prints for sale to anyone or is it just a demo for us? Is the framing serice provided by Red Bubble?

Ken
Hi Gartmore,
Thanks for the comp, the £2.06 is the starting price for a postcard. I post them on redbubble to show potential customers my various styles , the framing service, postage and credit collection is all sorted by redbubble. Redbubble is very user friendly , if anyone liked my pictures i would supply them direct rather than selling from there.

hi mongoose,

well ive done it!! gone against the tamron for a sigma 28-70mm f2 reason being i managed to get it trade price and unlike most shops if it dosent cut it in the low light i can return it for a full refund,or exchange it for the 50mm f1.4. Its being ordered in so hope its not a massive wait but when i do have it ill put some test shots up.

cheers.

hi mongoose , my only dilema is will f2.8 cut it in the poor lighting conditions otherwise it will have to be the 50mm f1.4 but then im concerned i may not get nearer enough to the action - choices!

ok cheers.

As an alternative to the 50mm f1.4 to capture martial arts and boxing events i have one other lens in mind - the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) does anyone have any experience of this lens?

Ok me thinks i may try a mix of jpeg and raw next week and process both through silky pix.
As ive not used silky pix that much what are the regular festures you use to process your photos ie a short list of minimum features you use?

hi don,

No i was shooting in jpeg , yes! ive since read the manual on setting the white balance manually. Wednesdays session was a fact finding mission for me and a learnt a little bit more. Ill go back maybe in a week or two with the wb set correctly and try to bring the iso down a tad as the poor quality meant i had to convert to mono - if i shot in raw at iso 1600 would there be less noticeable noise and banding , i did my best in paintshop pro!
Ive got a copy of Silky pix Don - do i need to tell the application im using the k10 or will it auto detect which camera i have? What are your best practices for this program?

Cheers.
