Some nice shots there, I wondered what the place would look like after dark when I was there earlier in the summer. There is a bit of softness as has been mentioned, but not everywhere.

Good set, I also liked the dust to help show movement.

I've changed recently, from using the USB cable as I said earlier, to using a card reader. Twice as fast, so I'll stick with that for now.

Lovely shot. I'd really like to get something like this, just haven't really been motivated enough to go somewhere dark.

I was able to get one - this was just around the time of the tsunami that affected a lot of photography-related companies in Japan, which was the reason that Jessops gave for not being able to get one after three weeks of trying, as if they were going to send off to Japan for one little accessory.

I wonder where all the old QR mounts go?!
Mine's somewhere in Chester, between the multi-storey car park on Pepper Street and the bridge at the bottom of Lower Bridge Street. Or it was, anyway. That was in 2010, so it's probably not there any more.

Wow, doing it with film would be very brave, just from the point of view of the number of rejects I've got. In a way digital requires less skill for stuff like this - I can just stick it on hi-speed continuous, fire off a load of frames, and just delete the majority that aren't any good. Bulk film back, anyone?

I see a lot of tripods, but by far the majority are quick-mount ones, but without the mount section. Having had to replace the mount on my own Slik tripod, I know what a pain they are to source.

The 52BB was a good buy - I don't know what the lens is like, but if that's an M42 to PK adapter, that's worth a pound any time. I've bought a few M42 lenses, but I've stopped doing now, unless I see something really special.

Yes, you should see all the rejects. The one time I managed to get the Sierra Cosworth blowing flame out of the exhaust, not quite sharp. All the ones with no flames, pin-sharp. Oh well, there's always next year.

Cheers everyone.

Some interesting stuff out on the track for this event, which mixes Super Touring cars from the early 1990s to single seaters and historic F2 / F5000 cars. It was nice to see a few differences, as I go to this event whenever I can I am starting to find that the photos are very similar year after year.

As always, the panning shots are a bit hit-or-miss in terms of whether a decent part, or sometimes any part, of the car are in shot. And sometimes some of the head-on shots at the corner were very focussed on the fence behind, but not so good on the cars.
