let's not forget there is no way to install icc profiles in your veiwers eyes/brains.

but really, that is another variable....

there was one little hicup in my apple/aperture/huey color management....
when exporting images from aperture, with a transparent gif overlay for copyright notices.... the gifs turn solid black.

if you set you monitor profile to adobe 1998 rgb then launch aperture, then reset the display to the huey profile, the transparencies work fine.

fortunately, this is one click easy, and my aperture library is almost always on. so I forget about it most of the time.

It is definately the huey, and aperture issue. when I upgrade my huey driver I'll have to remember to see if that got fixed.

as a mac user I am baffled.
I use 3 different macs, a huey, pse, cs2, epson printers (3 different models), finalcut elements, imovie, a projector (optimus) and my colors match across all.
what i see is what i get on final output.

when I have the occasional client that struggles with our pricing....
I often throw in a gift certificate or two.
A little good will goes a long way.
Hoya would do well to consider that well heeled (or not so well heeled) Pentax affectionados may feel the sting a little less if every new pentax lens came with a gift certificate (I won't use the word coupon) for savings on hoya filters.

the switch from ccd to cmos could gain an easy 50-70% increase in battery life. Also upping the milliamp-hours abit, (just like aa cells), the batery gets a little heavier, and longer charge rating, but is the same size and voltage.
same battery grip as k10 also.

sorry but I got a minolta spec battery for $39.00 cdn at the same store where the sold pentax spec battery at $99.00 cdn.
the clerc tried to tell me that the camera would report the battery to pentax and void my warranty...so I cancelled a $800.00 order from Don's Photo in Winnipeg and ordered the stuff from Photo Central, in Winnipeg.
Can't stomach a liar.
the battery works fine with the new grip, and even the manfrotto light/boom stands I got from the honest sales clerc.
the only diferences are a few hundred milliseconds of batery life that aren't worth the cost diference.

yes i bought the battery, cause i'm not stupid, but everything else photocentral carried...

only drawback they complained about was the slave function being limited in it's sensitivity. It failed at angles and distances where the canon fired properly. It also failed to switch from wireless mode to on camera mode automattically when placed on the camera, requiring the operator to remember to switch it or it wouldn't fire.

but was overall a very high rating.
