Have a K1000 and a mz5 and 50 that don't get much use these days, shame really, as they are still in great condition.

05.45 on a Saturday morning....I'm not surprised you were the only one there..... you need therapy!!

Love the second but I'd lose the first front door and bin front of the car on the right.....looks a little out of place. Had to laugh at the Butcher's shop picture though because if that was down here you'd have student demonstrations about cruelty to animals and sightseeing tours to see a "real" Butcher's shop!!.

......and you think I jest!!

That is perhaps one of his best points in this piece, no one can take any criticism about their work, it's compliments or nothing. Any criticism is termed bashing and hateful. .
Um Dan, pot kettle black perhaps

No point in getting precious about the replies Dan, think of it this way, you have provided a talking point that polarises opinion simply because the guy appears to have grandiose ideas about his own work whilst bashing others, who if we are honest, are probably every bit as good as his own work is!

You have your opinion of his work, and others have a different view, which they have shared with you. It doesn't matter if not many agree with your viewpoint, what's important is that you have one, and it has certainly livened up the Forum a little hasn't it?

As for the article seems like maybe you're not alone in your opinion, although the article did get nearly 6K Facebook likes!
Which ironically if you read the article is one of the things he believes contributes significantly to the plethora of grim and grungy, but now accepted as the "norm", mainstream street photography. The mobile phone companies have in effect cocked a snoop at the "traditional" camera maker's and their Clientele, telling any would be phone user that the included (enter a number here as high as you want) megapixel camera they have been provided will ensure you do not need any trainingexperienceskill to produce "top quality pictures for all your family to enjoy!"

Is it a bit of old fashioned snobbery from the Professionals?, mired in their piecemeal and substantially reduced workload where every phone owner can be the next (insert current darling of the Photography World) sensation by pointing and shooting a gadget, as opposed to having a life long ambition to create a masterpiece?.

The ephemeral nature of today's Western Society ensures each new fad can have "superstars" born overnight, from Bloggers to Vloggers, Youtubers and television music show's.

Who hasn't heard at least one old rocker bemoan how easy it is for the kids nowadays to have a music career in five minutes when it took them 20 tears of touring to earn their first record label deal, or established Theater actors' villifing the Millions of Dollar pay deal roles given to previously unheardunseen actors and actresses?.

It's just the nature of change. Having said that, all change is not good, regardless of what others may tell you!!

I want to have back decent Movies that I would watch over and over again, not the drivel they serve us nowadays where each new release is the Greatest Movie ever made with ***** reviews, and critics aren't falling over themselves to serve the interest of their and the Movie makers bank accounts. I want to go to an Art gallery and look at something crafted with love and care and precision and not a pile of bricks or some old rubbish piled in a corner and called "Art"...........

..................but most importantly I would like people to be honest once again, to not pander to everyone's ego's 24 hours a day, and if they think a picture is not well constructed or taken or composed to actually say so. I want people not to be so bloody thin skinned that a negative comment sends them into apoplectic fits of name calling and years of therapy to get over it. I want Politicians to give us the bad news, tell us there will be cuts and higher taxes and I want them to do it BEFORE the Bloody Election!!:

Stop the World...........I wanna get off!
