Cheers John, it doesn't seem to have the wing segments that were on the let shield bug I saw. Could it be a young one ? Or do some not have wings ?

Ha ha I would never have guessed. I don't remember seeing anything that exotic looking when I lived in Haywards heath, many moons ago.

What part of the world are you in, that is one weird looking spider, rather exotic looking, and Big.
Is it dangerous or harmless ?
