Superb image Geoff - well worth the effort

Thank you Lenny. Got cold hands more than anything on this, being lashed with sea water was fun to start with

Lovely. Did you add a bit of vignette or is it natural ?
Thank you for the comment, pschlute. No, the vignette was added in post. However the lens used does have a noticeable vignette from stock.

You can almost hear that. Wonderful image.
Thank you. It was blowy for sure. At one point, I nearly went over, camera/lens+hood acted like a sail and it took considerable effort to hold on to it and not slip over in the process. Exciting but you realised there are limits. Some folks in said conditions were making their way down to the exposed rocks at low tide! Carrying camera gear in hand!

Image is amazing, but I think I would have processed this a bit differently. The Vignette is overpowering for me as is.
Thank you for your comment Richard, one other person has also provided similar feedback, something to keep in mind for the next time.

Having just attempted my first similar shot, it can be very hit and miss as to whether the weather plays ball and provides the drama,
Well theres no shortage of drama in this.
Pp aside, it's a cracker.
Should be pleased with that one.
I know what i like, If not always why.

Strong stormy weather and difficult lighting conditions made capturing any images at Porthcawl Lighthouse a real challenge. 80+ mph winds, sea spray, rogue waves and a topnotch breakfast at the Pier Point Cafe made the 3am start all worthwhile. Perhaps my favorite image I managed to take and process from storm Ciara
Video footage of the waves crashing against the light house and a few more images.
