ok thanks for the help. i will do some looking into sensor cleaning - i have a blower and some cleaning fluid and swabs....i must be brave!

will i be able to actually see these blobs on the sensor? with the naked eye?

top right of picture, the grey little circular marks...u cant miss them. the wall i took the pic off has no marks on it like that.

ive tried a few lens and the marks are on all.

i cant really remember this happened - i did go on holiday a while back and got a bit lax with my camera care....my fault entirely. lesson learnt

i followed a tutorial for cleaning the sensor but it didnt appear to help.

ahh ok - that does sound like sense. i fiddled with the aperture ring and i remember thinking it was weird that it pretty much didnt do anything....

cool i will try that. i did try and tone the flash down to minimal but it didnt make a difference - i guess its a drop in the open compared to a wide-open aperture?

i've got a metz 36 AF4 - would this work with the prime lens ok? i remember having issues with that too.

i havent got it with me at the mo but i think it's an old kmount 28mm manual prime lens. i have a k100d.

anyway i havent used it for ages and got it out the other day - tried taking some snaps indoors and the flash COMPLETELY drowned out the image.

i tried fiddling with a few settings/modes but couldnt get any change really....is something broken?

i tried to increase shutter speed but i think it maxed out really early....at 1/80 i think...

please be gentle, i'm only just trying to get back into this and im feeling foolish already!

hi - am pretty new to this so bare with! cheers.

bought an asahi smc pentax-m 1:1.7 50mm which i thought would go straight onto my k100d....

if fits ok but cant take pics and the numbers next to av are just lines and are flashing.

any ideas?

hi. only just getting into using my k100d and am about to undertake some lower light photography at a party. it seems that a quick lens like the 50mm f1.7 would be right for me.

will the damaged thread have any impact of the life or quality of the results?

also, is it an auto or manual focus lens?
