hi. only just getting into using my k100d and am about to undertake some lower light photography at a party. it seems that a quick lens like the 50mm f1.7 would be right for me.
will the damaged thread have any impact of the life or quality of the results?
also, is it an auto or manual focus lens?

adamjt7's post shows the lens to be a SMC Pentax-F 50mm 1:1.7 which would indicate it's an AF lens. The post also shows that the lens has been repaired.

I wasn't aware that Pentax ever made an AF version of the 50mm f1.7. An 'A' version, but not an AF version. I thought that the only AF version of the 50mm was the 1.4.

Is the Sigma 105mm Macro f2.8 the EX or EX DG?
Can you please tell me it's age and condition and was it purchased in UK.

The sigma 105 is the ex dg version and the 50mm f1.7 which is autofocus is still for sale.

I have seen the Mk 1 on sale in my local camera shop in The Hague for EUR 255 Cheap at half the price..

There were F1.7 and FA 1.7 versions of the 50mm. I replaced my F1.7 with the FA 1.4...
