help - k100d with lens i bought off ebay

hi - am pretty new to this so bare with! cheers.

bought an asahi smc pentax-m 1:1.7 50mm which i thought would go straight onto my k100d....

if fits ok but cant take pics and the numbers next to av are just lines and are flashing.

any ideas?

You need to activate the custome function "permit use of aperture ring" and then you meter and take the image in manual mode using stop down metering. Not the most convenient way to shoot but it works.

For more convenient shooting and full function buy AF Pentax lenses or A series manual focus ones - there is an A setting on the aperture ring with these lenses.
