Forums are odd places really. You can interact with people for years without knowing what they look like. I'll go first if anyone cares to join me. This is me and my lifelong companion, Bobsworth:
You're way better looking than I was expecting!

Not sure about the bloke behind you, though...

I would say glass before pixels. I doubt I can get an obviously better flower pic with my K3 than with the K30. Also I'm not sure flower photography needs ultra resolution to get the best results compared to say insects. I certainly wouldn't pay £900 for glass specifically to get better flower shots. A lot of lenses with tubes or any macro even an adaptall SP90 or SP 35-80 with 2.5x mag would work.

Great shots!
My DA*300 is the most used lens I own. On it's own or with the 1.4x and 1.7x TC's it's a great wildlife lens. Once the Dragonflies and Butterflies appear in numbers, I then use it manual focus with a 36mm extension tube (old Jessops model with contacts) - nice working distance with higher magnification and the image quality is first class! Who needs the Sigma 150mm or 180mm Macros!
---------------------------------------------
I also use the Jessops auto extension tubes for closer focusing distance with the DA*300. 1.4TC on order. I doubt I've ever matched these for quality though.

I can't agree really Chris. Wildlife photography sometimes needs minor flaws in my opinion, almost to authenticate it. Totally different from macro shots in a studio. I'm not one for cutting away offending leaves or grass blades although of course you try your best to get the best position. These things tend to fly off within a few seconds!

2&3 are my favourites. I prefer HDR like this when it is obvious as no attempt to mislead. Very artistic shots.

I just had a look as I wanted a cover for the hood of my Canon 300mm f2.8 as it's easily marked.

Shame the protective hood cover they do has the lens cap sewn on the end. £10 seems pretty reasonable to me when you see what is involved. If they did an open one presumably it would cost less as no need for the tricky bit, sewing the end cap on. You should tell them - if it's a common problem they would make them.

I searched high and low for these for my FA*300 F/4.5 with no luck so ended up using camo tape. Shame the FA*300 is out of stock, perhaps I have you to thank for that as you pointed out to them it's not a current model

Contact them - they are very friendly. They will tell you when they will have one or probably make it for you anyway.
