I like these, I am not a fan of HDR, but they have been done in a subtle and sensible way. The third and fourth ones are both stunners.

Lovely set George, the shots strike me as being full of detail and colour, along with your skilled compositions. The K-1 appears to be a fantastic camera in the right hands.

Although just a simple landscape, something about number 14 makes that one my favourite.

ERM...no. See the links posted earlier...up there ^^^^

Who pays that much for a smart charger, when a 10 quid dumb one from eBay works much better...?
Sorry, missed that post, the 7 Day Shop charger looks to be a bargain. However, that might not make any difference and it's not really satisfactory having to run the camera permanently on Duracells. It wouldn't take long to mount up a battery cost in excess of what it would cost to replace the camera.

I think the suggestion of trying the firmware update and getting a backup camera is the most viable route, just my opinion of course.

Very well done indeed, congratulations on your cover photo. It's always very nice to see your work in print, not that I've ever experienced this!

I'm glad to see you are still covering this event David. I hope the organisers are pleased with your efforts - they certainly should be!
A great set. I really like 11 and 14, but it is number 1 which I keep going back to.
Thank you Gwen, I think you may recall some silliness on the Forum earlier this year regarding this event, which resulted in me having to withdraw a Forum Post and probably contributed to me having to cover the event alone, which is hard work, but very enjoyable. I very much appreciate your kind comments.

Thanks for the comments all, much appreciated. I enjoyed the day immensely, but not so much the processing of 500 images afterwards!

Cheers

Hi Joats

It strikes me that you may be 'flogging a dead horse' so to speak and that an alternative solution should be sought? As mentioned earlier in the thread, I've had four Pentax K-x's, none of which had the issue with false battery readings or power shut-down. You may be better served by sourcing another second hand K-x, they should be cheap and readily available. If you had a backup camera, it wouldn't be a disaster if you attempted a firmware update on your existing one and it failed, as you would have a backup camera you could use. Someone on this Forum recently sold a used K-x with only 1,607 shutter actuation, for £85.00. That's probably about the price that a decent intelligent charger would cost you, and less than a Pentax Battery Adaptor for the K-x. Neither of these options is guaranteed to work.

I know this isn't a solution to your current questions, but it's probably more practical.

David

Hi Everyone

Not posted a collection of shots for a while, but some of you may know I help a friend out once a year and act as official tog at a local music festival. This year has been a bit of an effort, shot almost 1300 images, from which over 500 have been processed individually (all shot RAW) and given to the organisers to do with as they will. All in my spare time, of which I don't have any!!

Here are a few selections, please feel free to criticise or comment. Cameras used are K-5iis and K-3, lenses are DA*50-135, DA*300 and Sigma 17-70.
