Hi,
No extra kit needed if you use it in wireless mode.
Most flashes will not work in wireless mode; I appreciate the Pentax ones do but if additional flashes are used which are not compatible with the Pentax wireless mode, a trigger will be needed. It was good of you to point this out though as I had overlooked the fact that Dave has a Pentax flash!

Hi Jason, welcome to the site, hope you are getting some good tips. One other thing I always recommend is to go out on a shoot with some fellow Pentaxians in your local area. More will be learned in a few hours than in days or weeks of reading manuals.

Best wishes
David

Hi Dave, I would strongly recommend buying an Aputure Flash Trigger, available on Amazon. They are approximately £20, work very, very well and have a range of up to 120 metres. They can also trigger your camera remotely (when not using flash) and work in Bulb mode. You can also buy extra receivers if you want to trigger more than one flash.

I have just the one receiver, but also have another flash that is triggered optically (i.e. by the flash from the first unit). This works brilliantly well and was used for the shot below.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Ralph - all a bit underwhelming to be honest. The shots of the elders in India are the stand-outs here, but I'm sure most of us on PU could have done equally well......

It's a really nice lens - I have one and it takes lovely images. I think the fact that it's manual only does hold back the price a bit.

Hi Bob, I really like the concept and the image is very good. Just one observation; the white areas on the bread (flour?) look a little too blown out and prominent to me and tend to draw my eye towards them. It may be worth toning them down a little?

Beautifully shot images, I haven't seen any Waxwings this year (or any other year) but there have been greater numbers in the UK this Winter than is normal. I know they are in our area because I met a man yesterday who lives near to us and he has had them in his garden.

As most of you on the site will know by now, I love landscapes. I've been on a few trips out to our wonderful British Countryside and tried to capture it as best I can. I find that some parts of Derbyshire can be a little barren and bleak in comparison to say the Lake District. This makes it harder to shoot an image with interest and depth so here I've tried to use as many elements as possible to add to the scene. I hope you like these two, shot as the sun began to set. I've also recently posted them on the Gallery.

Both are with the K-5 and DA 16-45.
