These are very good - they showcase the detail and resolution that the IIs can offer. It looks like a great combination with the DA 15 Limited.

The regulars will probably know I had a DA 16-45 which I loved and which was sold to fund the purchase of a DA 17-70. The 17-70 is great, but I'm really missing the 16-45, so I am looking to buy another one. It must be in excellent condition, no scratches, fungus or dust in the optics, must be the Pentax version, not the Samsung one.

If anyone has one they will sell at a realistic price, please let me know.

David

These are all magnificent Shaun. I have seen most of them before, but not the one when we were in Scotland - it looks fabulous in black and white. That one is probably my personal favourite, being a lover of landscapes.

This is the last of my four high quality legacy lenses now left for sale. Here are a couple of images taken with this lens:

The second image is at F1.4, I'm not sure what the aperture was on the first one but it was fairly wide open.

I use the Hitech 85mm grads. They are very good and fit in the Cokin A holders. There are however two downsides to the Hitechs IMO:

1. They vignette in the Cokin holder on some lenses (DA 17-70 causes problems at the wide end, whereas strangely the DA 16-45 has no such issues)

2. They do introduce a slight blue / cyan cast, but it is very easy to remove all traces of this in PP and you end up with a very neutral looking image

I have solved the vignetting issue with helpful suggestions from Shaun Wilson, i.e. I now use the filters holding them by hand in the correct position in front of the lens - this is actually an easier method as you can adjust the position infinitely and get just the amount of graduation to suit.

Other than what I've mentioned above, the Hitechs get my recommendation, although they are clearly not as good as Lee filters they cost less than one third of the amount. Also they're resin, so won't shatter if you drop one.

K-5II or IIs is most definitely worth paying for. I have The K-5 mk1 and the K-5IIs - the IIs is in a different league. The biggest reason for this is the AF accuracy and ability to lock in difficult circumstances. I simply cannot rely on my K-5 Mk1 to give me accurate focus in pressure situations - like wedding shoots, particularly indoor images in poor light. On the other hand, the K-5IIs is a different beast - I am amazed by its ability to focus accurately in almost 100% of circumstances. Where 'keepers' are important it's a no-brainer.

The IIs also has better IQ; leaving all focus issues aside, when comparing like for like on images that are in focus, the IIs images are sharper and cleaner; more impact as was mentioned above.
