Another good set Simon, that one of the young Robin is particularly good.

A lovely set Naim, nothing wrong with these at all. The balloon blower and the steel band man are my favourites.

The problem with using an old 2xTC without glass is that it won't have much impact on the minimum focus on a 560mm lens and a lot of light will be lost. I'm not sure this would be viable, but I have a 2x AF converter Alan that I'd be willing to sell for about £999 if you fancy a go?

Just fabulous, both the images and the story. I have a very soft spot for cats, although we don't have one at the moment. We got two the day after we got married and one of them lived for over 20 years with us.

That's the best comment / feedback I've had so far

I'm slightly amused by the debate over whether the geese should be inside the orange zone or are better tracing a route along its boundary. I'm totally captivated by the picture just as it is, although I'm sure there is a valid argument for having geese enrol on a photographic course devoted to the art of composition.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments. It's nice to get good feedback on an image I like myself, for some reason although it's only a very simple shot, I think it's destined to become one of my favourites out of all my images. I think most of us are very self-critical, myself included and it's rare that I'm happy with a shot, but with this one I am.

Hi Everyone

Do any of you out there have a set of Hitech Filters? I do, the ND Grad 3 filter set, 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 ND soft grads and very useful they are too. However, being made of resin, they are easily scratched / dulled, so you have to be careful with them and I have made the mistake of not being very careful with mine, e.g. storing them back-to-back in a pouch, with nothing between them, so they rub together and any minute dust particles effectively act like sandpaper on them.

I've found out tonight something very useful. You can polish them with 'T-Cut' car paint restorer, the type specially formulated for metallic paint, used on a damp microfibre cloth. As long as the cloth is clean, this doesn't leave scratches and restores the filters to a mirror like finish. It won't remove deep scratches, but it is effective otherwise.

Hope this is useful information for anyone with Hitech or other resin filters. BTW, it's important that the filters are coloured all the way through and not just surface coated, otherwise what I'm describing will most likely remove the coating.

David

OK, I understand. It's such a sad state of affairs when you have to be this careful, but I do appreciate the sensitivity. I didn't even think of this when posting the question, I was just wondering why you mentioned cricket and then posted shots which weren't about cricket!

Cheers
