We're not miles apart Andrew. Wouldn't give up digital for anything. Just feel that sometimes knowing you have to get the best out of the capture makes you take time to check the entire photo construction.

I'm no doubt preaching to the converted in this forum but since going digital in 2003 I suspect my photography skills have declined. Its just too easy to snap away and retrieve a good photo with an edit suite or delete and try again. My K-S1 is a wonderful camera and has reawakened my photographģc interest, I also have an Optio for those impromptu moments but acquiring a Pentax film camera has been a breakthrough. Its reminded me to check settings, think of composition and treat the entire process as an artwork. Best lesson ever learnt.

Useful point of view Andy. Just one of those oddball thoughts I have from time to time

We've all been asked to photograph weddings, christenings, engagements and the like. Anyone done funerals and cremations? After all, its the final memory of a loved one so looking for the correct approach.

With lens carriers from the main manufacturers costing around £25 do you know anyone who has just had a baby? A Tommee Tippee bottle carrier is a perfect fit for my Tamron 70-300. 50p at a car boot sale.Comment Image

Just a thought. What if the winner set the competition, not for the next week but for the week after? It would just need a fill in week once and, thereafter, the winner would have a full week to get the new comp sorted.

Might keep the model running more smoothly.

After last weeks glowing praise for the K S1 AP turned its attention to the K S2 this week. I've not read the entire article as yet but the summary states 'Overall the K S2 is a very good DLSR indeed ...... it can match or exceed them (its main competitors) in almost any important respect.'

Good result.

Obvious question perhaps but was it not insured - either specifically or under your home insurance policy? If so, dropping it would be grounds for a claim and you could have it repaired and thereafter sell it with full confidence it was in working order. You will, no doubt, have to pay an excess but that could be far less than the loss you might make with uncertainty about its condition.
