Would be a good way of trying out properly prior to purchase, particularly now that prices have increased so much.

I believe it was 1 for every 14 persons in Britian or are this old numbers?
That number was from Nov 2006, suspect a lot more now. Do not personally have a problem with that, if it keeps plod away from me, in any case I think they probably deter some of the extreme violent behavour that used to happen in our cities, often carried out by the Police

The aperture ring on a Lens can be set to a pre-set figure or in newer (post 80s)lenses "A". If not set to "A" the camera will not change the aperture set on the Lens. If "A" is selected the camera controls the aperture of the Lens. Some modern Lenses do not have aperture rings. All of this assumes you are using compatable kit.

AF has nothing to do with aperture (in this post).

Hope this helps.

However, the public neither know or care about this situation but are quite happy to carp on about it when it affects them personally - that's human nature.
That`s very true Argee, I have read your post twice but can still see no justification why police officers can treat people with such disrepect. If as you say they are de-motivated they have an option, leave. This is one of the few areas that makes me angry. I loathe the Police Force in this country, and please note: I am not some 25 yr old drug pusher, I am actually a 49 year old factory manager with a mortgage + wife etc, etc. If I have become alienated then things must be bad.

Time was when we used to live in a free country, the police where the servants of the people, and we had rights.
No longer, I wonder how filming a police officer can be a terrorist act.
Sad realy, we have lost so much over the last few years.

One thing is for sure, with such expressive children you are bound to get some good shots, am almost jealous.

Who cares what the brand name is if it is the right fit FOR YOU?
Totally agree, the k20 is my first dslr, being a newbee i did`nt have any lenses therefore was not tied to a particular brand. I spent months trying to decide which system to go with; i was looking for the best camera and lens range to suit me, in my opinion. I am happy with my choice of Pentax, i do not care what Nikon or Cannon are doing. Maybe one day i will find that my photography is being limited by my choice of brand. If that day comes i may change systems.

For me No1 is nearly very good, had you got both faces sharp (maybe a smaller aperture?),and a slight crop to get rid of the bright area on the right and this would be a cracking shot. Great expression on the lad in the background, well caught.
