Uprated my Metz Software for the 58 AF1 a couple of months back on the Metz site.

Works perfectly with my K1

Why is the K3 my favourite travel camera ?

Did Ricoh / Pentax simply assume that serious shooters don't love a serious built in flash?

I just bought the very dimunitive Metz 26 AF2 flash for my K3II and K1 and it is "ok".

Lovely set, well taken, of an iconic bird

FF TELECONVERTERS WOULD BE A REAL STEP FORWARD

I am with you John on waiting for the FF fisheye, but what I could really do with is a range of FF compatible teleconverters. The mock-up primes we saw earlier look too bulky for me, probably the current primes would be preferable.

For my K1 I would like to say a DFA1000mm F4 but I would settle for something like a DFA 24 -150(+), f 1.8

I couldn't afford one if Pentax gave birth to either so all I can do is .......dream on!

For my K1 I have the 24-70 and the 28-105; the latter is my favourite general shooting lens and the IQ is pretty much as good as the 24-70 .

However, in all but the extreme ranges ( aperture and focal length ) the APS 18-135 matches them both.

Hence as I have posted many times, my travel and walk about set up is the K3 and the 18-135

It is seriously good.

I hope Pentax can make a full frame 18-135 that matches the IQ of the current APS Version

I wholly agree with the comment from Nigel, there is no point in buying a K1 and mounting older " non- optimal" lenses on it

Superb and evocative set Bill, as good as it gets for me; photo-craft and photo art at it's very best.

I had a couple last night but not that much that I was seeing funny things happening this morning like this fellah; at first I thought I must have enjoyed myself too much and be still be in a rare state of inebriation.

However, it was not an hallucination; sitting there outside my kitchen window on the feeder was this wonderful gold mantled Eastern Gold Mantled Rosella Parakeet.

Sitting there on my work top was my trusty K3 with the 18-135 so I took it through the closed window and hoped for the best.

Mind you, we have had tropical weather here in Swansea (monsoon rain and muggy temperatures)
