I am a huge believer that shooting with film not only helps you become a better photographer, but will also increase your enjoyment of photography

Given the cost of 2nd hand cameras there's no excuse not to give it a go, in my humblest of opinions

Ebay prices are often deflated as you have the ones not working, or the ones where people claim they are untested, when in fact they know they don't work but try to pretend they don't know that to rip somebody off! Plus of course auction prices have a wider range of potential cost

If so ffordes sold one recently for 40 quid (plus postage) so how would 32 delivered sound?

Silly me not working out the mechanical point myself!

I've become rather obsessed with film cameras in the past year or so. Part of the fun has been playing around with all the different models and working out what I like best, fixing a few broken ones.

It's been an utterly joy....

But it's time for a clear out now. On top of the 6 bodies I am keeping (s1a, SP1000, ME Super, ME F, KX, MX) I have got 10 different bodies up for grabs if anybody is interested.

I can easily pair a lens to any of them for anybody who wants a starting kit.

All of them:

Are working perfectly
Are in pretty good cosmetic condition (unless described otherwise)
Lenses are operating perfectly and free from any imperfections on the glass; and
Will come with new batteries and a strap

The bodies are

3x ME Super (one a little tatty)
P30
P30N
P30T
MV
Program Plus
2x Super A

If anybody is in the market for a body (with or without a lens) let me know.

I'll give it a few weeks before they go in the local shop window with a hefty mark up!

Sad times

I've only just got it. Seemed alright and the shutter was firing so I stuck a film in it and then on the first shot, this happened

Nightmare

I'll do my best to explain this succinctly

1 when I fire the shutter the mirror lifts (slowly) and then stays in position

2 after that any attempt to fire the shutter again gets you nowhere.....

3.... Unless you adjust the shutter speed (and sometimes if you turn the lock switch on then off again) whereupon the shutter fires and the mirror returns

Any ideas what the hell is going on here and where to start with a fix.

They are new batteries so I don't think that is the cause

It's dent free but with a few minor scratches

Some fool has ruined 2 of the screw heads though. I've snapped one screwdriver trying to get them off and the new one I bought yesterday isn't doing the job either

I'll keep at it though and let you know when I get there!
