When I use the P filter holder on my Sigma, I don't use an adaptor ring, the holder sits quite nicely in the bayonet mount for the lens hood instead. So the holder sits a bit further back than it would on an adaptor ring, which may well help matters. I'll have to try cutting off the front sections because I only ever use the polariser in it anyway.

P.S. If the Canon shows vignetting at 10mm, the Pentax would (should) show more, as it's got a slightly larger sensor and therefore a wider field of view with this lens.

I can use my Cokin (actually a Kood) P-size set above 12mm without vignetting, but below that will show the holder. You could always modify the holder by cutting off the front couple of filter slots and that would probably avoid the problem.

If you have a scew in polariser I don't see it being a problem at all (guessing that's what Niblue uses?).

I got a 50-135mm a week ago.
I tested it in low light condition at 2.8 and in daylight at other apertures:
back focus, autofocus is not accurate even on SEL mode, totally soft at 2.8.
myspace.com/lunacalor the first 5 are taken at 2.8 all focal length with 50-135mm and autofocus.
The others are taken at 1.4 and 2.8 with a 50mm and a 100mm
Well from Substitute's original post we can see she's well used to using wide aperture lenses wide open, and getting results she's pleased with, and has also tried the new lens in daylight and at various apertures.

I think that it was unfortunate she used these photos to demonstrate to us the softness of the lens, as there are plenty of other reasons in a situation like this for softness to be an issue, as many have pointed out. Also, at the size posted, it's hard for us to see exactly what's going on. However, again from her original post we can perhaps assume that Substitute is quite sure there is a genuine problem.

Yes, should have mentioned the tripod too.

Taking this example, I don't think you would have got a different image with a flashgun. You could have done this in one exposure, manual exposure to expose for the factory, and a little slow-synch fill flash to lift the colours and give some definition to the man (perhaps set the compensation to -1). But you'd need a serious lighting rig to light the whole thing with flash.

I got my K10D from them, when I saw it listed by them on Amazon, but they had forgotten to add the VAT on, so I'm guessing attention to detail might not be their strongest point.

I wasn't going to point that out to them though.

The Fish-eye Remembrance Day one was on the front, and one of the head-shave ones inside, that was one where he was getting it done, don't think you showed us that one.

Well I hope next week I'll see a picture of you in the Yellow Advertiser, rather than your pictures (front page and page three this week wasn't it? ).

Although if we can keep the pic of you off page three that would be good.

I can't imagine they'd be on anyone's travel itinerary, to be honest.
