I did wonder if they were to put a rope or something through, just seemed a bit odd to me - I'd be more inclined to fit the D rings that they fit to the pouches instead as that way you could put a shoulder strap on the cases.

My Stealth Reporter D100AW has the loops too, they're just about big enough to get a little finger into on that but I doubt that was the intended use.

I wish Lowepro would do a small SLR case - something for an M series with a 50mm lens, or even better M series with winder and short lens. If you have one with a 40mm pancake lens then the Sliplock Pouch 30 is a good fit, but the 50mm is just a bit too long for it.

If it has GPS then Memory-Map would be good - I run it on my car PC to make sure I'm on the proper right of way while trundling around the hills. Basically it gives you Ordnance Survey maps with a GPS fix, unlike Google Maps the data is stored on the device so you don't need a phone signal to make it work.

These are excellent - will hold two short primes (anything 55mm or shorter should be ok).

One thing I've never been able to figure out with the Lowepro lens cases - what are the webbing loops sewn into the fabric at the ends of the zip for?

I've got one too - the need to fire from in front of the camera is a bit of a pain but I'm thinking that if it was a real problem it wouldn't be hard to rig a small mirror in front of the IR sensor. I know I've managed to trigger mine from behind the camera while shooting through a window, the glass bounced enough of the IR signal to fire the shutter!

They don't have a 120mm f2.8 though...

I do, and it's great!

I think this would be a useful addition to the kit lens - I've seen a few people using them as a general use (walkaround) lens as they're more compact than the kit zoom.

I've got one, having tried it on my K-m I would say it's worth owning.

One suggestion I've had is to buy Cokin-style NDs, that way they'll fit all your lenses (and you'll probably buy more - most people end up with a good handful!) just by changing the adapter ring that attaches the filter holder to the lens. The system you want is Cokin-P, I think Lee offer filters to the same dimensions but I've not investigated that closely.

Talking about the M* 300mm f4, there's one on ebay uk at the moment for about £550. That is buy it now so may well be someone hoping to strike lucky, but it's a rare high-quality lens either way. I think the lens hood works in the same way as that on the M 135mm, 200mm, etc. Worth checking that it has the original front cap as I don't think there are many genuine Pentax spares about.

Personally I'd rather have the A version that a well-known seller is asking £770 for, but I need a lottery ticket that works first...

Look at the "Green Filter" range like this one. Cheap but not poor quality, I've had fine results from mine. They also do NDs which aren't bad either.
