you think a rechargeable battery can't fit in there? I think it could...
Better to have a WiFI connection to the larger screen most people alreadt have, *your phone* - which has more power, which is what camera manufactures are doing anyway.

Cool.
If you do this again, opt for longer exposure times, so you get some motion blur.
Stills you don't want blur, video you do
here's another early experiment:

call me crazy, but I still say that screen looks detachable... possible with wi-fi it has remote view/control?
Besides, it would need power.
You can use a field monitor if you want detached screen.
we'll find out soon enough.. but it would make sense to expand the shutter speeds for 4k interval video over what the k3 does.

and I hope they upgraded the 4k interval to take shots up to 30 seconds for astro shooting video time lapses.

It's my understanding that no one moves the sensor in/out towards the lens, as that directly impacts on the focus point of the shot.
...
Aberrations occur because different wavelength of light will focus at different points when passing through glass.... ever see a prism separate light into it's colour components? I'm suggesting the sensor could be used to make a precise focus for each colour and merge the data to eliminate aberrations...

lol. Anyone can patent a silly idea. Even some good ideas have been patented but never came to anything.
Like this one you link to hasn't in 13 years..
one could argue "Why put both a screen AND wi-fi into the same body since everybody has a smart phone these days you could cut costs and weight by omitting the screen and using an app"
but yet the ks1 and ks2 have BOTH built in (but no live view on the app)... it makes sense to have a pop off remote/viewer for the k1 especially if the touchscreen allows you to tap focus while the camera is on a tripod. and your phone stays in the pocket....
