O.K. so I have a Metz 48 af,which is often use off camera - I would like to have a 2nd (or even a third) flash working as a slave? (back light soft-box you know the sort of thing)or would it be better to have them as ttl?
o.k. people imagine a limited budget what would you add to your kit to support your main flash
think out door portrait, wedding or small event photography

Hi all
I done a bad thing!
I dropped my K7 but fortunately the only damage was the foot on the metz 48f.
The nice people at Metz are estimating the repair to be around £70.00
while the parts are 12.00. I am an engineer but they have even frightened me with tales of high voltage and the need for specialised repair.
I have looked on the world wide wobble thingy and have seen a great picture by picture replacement of a foot on a Cannon. It really does not look that hard
I am going to attempt the repair - so 2 things
1. Has anyone replaced a foot on a Metz or any other Flash
2. Would anyone like me to log the repair as I do it

I have done 9 weddings and I am building up a good portfolio - these have generally consisted of budget shoots - between £300 - £450 (cash) - I now want to offer a bit more than photobooks what have you guys found out there that will move me towards the £600.00 - £800.00 I have 4 weddings booked for this year so far and I realise I am under priced
Any thoughts?

I have a problem concentrating.
I never made and aifix spitfire by reading the instructions (and always had the pilot left on the frame after I had glued the cockpit on)
I really need a 'recipe' approach to silkypics
and I wish there was a standard language

Well this may be boring but....
Rechargeable AAs what have you gy=uys found to be the most relaiable for flash and for K200.
In my experience I have no idea I have paid a lot and got mixed results and I have bought cheap and got crap

Hi, I'm doing my 5th wedding next week, (all booked in the last 2 months) and it's funny I'm more 'nervous' now than my 1st one. I guess the 1st one was for friends I felt little pressure, it was a beautiful sunny day the marriage was a small affair and very informal so everything turned out great. Now I have some experience and my last one could have been a disaster as I made a mistake and put some discharged batteries in my pocket rather than the ones I had diligently charged the night before. Convinced there was something wrong with my camera (and no second body!) Blind panic stopped me from calmly dealing with the problem - I had a second shooter, thank god.
Now, I have a check-list and do it twice once the night before and ten again on the morning ( and a second camera!)
I charged £250.00 for the 1st 2 which covered my costs and a little bi but not my time a wedding takes me about 3 days)The next 2at £400 (these have built a portfolio) and now any others will be based on the 'package they want
