What are some of the functions that really rocks your boat
Is that a new model already? Is it a replacement for the K-m or K7 by any chance?

Hi Mike, firstly congratulations on the K-7. No real pointers actually, it is very easy to get up to speed with the button layout and handling. I came from a K20D and it only took a short while for me.
You will find metering to be little more biased towards 'spot on' rather than under exposure. You will also probably want to update the firmware to v1.01 if your camera is running version v1.00. This update adds a few fixes and introduces the option to directly select focus points in setup (like the K20D).
Most all have fun, it's a great camera

Battery charger is not very fast so put it on to charge ASAP. Then sit down and read the manual while the battery charges.
New things I use are the 'electronic horizon' and I find the focus assist light is good when the light starts to get dim.
As Greytop says upgrade the firmware, and as Father Ted said enoy it.

While on the subject of the K7. Does it have the focus adjustment as per the K20?(Not that I've a K20). Also does anyone know yet of an alternative battery make to the Pentax one? (Not the obvious answer AA's)
If and when I buy one I'll want the battery Grip and spare batteries and the Power/Mart ones I use in my K10 work perfectly well and are much cheaper than the Pentax version. CHEERS Vic.

Mike: My monitor doesn't work too well since I sprayed it with fly-killer. I've passed you name to my insurance company.
