For P-TTL you'll need the Pentax specific model, sigma make this flash for each of the main camera manufacturers, keep a look out for a Pentax specific model.

My suggestion would be 2nd hand sigma ef-500 DG super, for this money. It has P-TTL, for correct amount of flash automatically controlled by camera, also works wirelessly off camera for when you progress, will work well with this lens and has enough power for casual use and a longer lens than you have currently.

Interesting hearing from one or two users of the new K-3 that focusing speed is increased for screw drive lenses, these guys don't sit still for very long,I'm wondering how much quicker? I guess I'm still in the 'shall I' stage, my K5ii isn't really ran in yet.
These taken with FA*200mm and 2x tele

I've not used the new 50mm lens but have had both the 35mm f2.4 and 40mm ltd, best for me in this focal length that is affordable is the DA 35mm f/2.8 ltd macro, so yes another option but I would not be without mine and these are available in excellent used condition around £250. Sharp, 1:1 macro, great build and focal length, small on the camera. It really should be a consideration IMHO.

I use a manfrotto 393 on a 190xprob for k-5ii fitted with Sigma 150-500. Might be worth a look.

I have a chance to get a couple of used lenses at the weekend, but I'll need to pay for them, so thought I'd offer my MZ-S up and see if there is anyone out there looking for one. Comes with Operating manual, body cap, pouched strap containing viewfinder cover, batteries are fitted, so it'll come ready to go. Rubber protection is all present and in very good condition. It's a stonking camera, £200 inc RMSD, payment by Bank transfer or Paypal, buyer pays fees.
