However, I should, in the interests of accuracy, point out that my error was not a malapropism, but a humble typo.
What's the right word, then, for "creating an amusing alternate meaning by transposing two letters in a word"?

check the isntructions first
The instructions, however, are here:

They look hard, but they aren't. Follow them carefully, and there'll be no ructions.
"The mistaken use of a word in place of a similar sounding one."
The example it gives is to "dance a Flamingo" (instead of a Flamenco).
I just liked the idea of "isn't ructions".
Sorry, George is the expert at arcane words, I'm a mere apprentice. You should see the ones he comes out with.

All taken care of
It's equivalent to taken a photo of a subject further away - that's all.

Clearly, when the flash is bounced, the pre-flash goes via the same route as the main flash, and is subject to the same inverse square law and reflectivity losses.
So when the reflection from the pre-flash reaches the camera, which then does its metering, the intensity of the reflection will be lower than if the flash had been direct.
With less light coming back, presumably the camera tells the flash to increase its output.
So my question is this:
Given that the flash power is adequate*, despite the enroute losses, are any other adjustments required for correct exposure, or is it all taken care of?

Sorry Brian, the first is the best, but the background detracts too much.
However, with the applied effects, it looks like an illustration from a book or a magazine (Jeeves and Wooster?), and quite interesting at that.
Could do with a bit of straightening though.

I just went into town to look around and found a slightly dusty but otherwise perfect M400 F5.6 lens in a second hand shop (they also have a website). I know there were a few people on here looking for a 300mm or longer manual lens a while back.
I was really tempted to get it but can't really afford it at the moment

Easy, that's a 'snooperism'.
Here on Pentax User we are all shining wits, unlike our contemporaries on DePressing Review.
