Actually imo number 6 is pretty special as well.

I thought you might be interested in the series from which that first one is taken. The light yesterday was not the easiest - most of the day, there was an awful lot of bright white cloud, which meant that avoiding silhouettes was almost impossible most of the time. There were a few blue patches, and towards the end when the Reds were flying, there was some thick (hence dark grey) cumulus, but with the sun shining through gaps out to the west.
Anyway, I've put that particular run in, in this Picasa album. The shots are spaced about two seconds apart, and you can see how the light changes from one side of the sky to the other. I did get quite excited as I saw them turn in towards me; even in the viewfinder I could see there was a chance of something decent.
I don't use continuous shooting mode - although yesterday, AF-C and pattern-based (rather than spot) AF-point selection did work quite well.

Looks like I might have made a tactical error in not saving the best till last.
One more before bed. If you've seen this thing displayed, you'll know it is an amazing aircraft. Very agile for its size, which you don't quite believe until it comes past you.

I'll add a few more to this thread as I get time.
Most taken with the DA 55-300, which I'm quite pleased with.

Either the PU team have been hard at work, or the search works differently for you than for me. I entered 'airshow' and that thread of Javam's was third on the list. Enter 'Chateau' and it's the second one.
It doesn't find 'Frontenac', but that's only mentioned in the title of the thread, which I realise it should be searching for as well, but that does narrow down the problem a little.
If yours is different, then that's very odd.
Always willing to prefer that it's just my finger trouble (since it's most easily fixed), I'd give them the benefit of the doubt if it was just Javam's thread - since I did initially think it was an airshow thread, not a 10-20 thread, so I might have missed it.
But then I deliberately picked words that had come up recently - and it definitely didn't find the chateau thread.
Strange. But if it's working now, then good.

Have you made a report?
Comment by ChrisA posted on New forum Style at 19/07/2008 - 23:08
It was this thread.
The poster was javam, who, as I now recall, posted some pictures taken with the Sigma 10-20.
I had a look at his website, which had some airshow photos - and I asked him about them.
My Google search was: "airshow siteentaxuser.co.uk"
Took me all of about 1 minute to find it.
Google: 1, Forum: pants

How many threads are there with 'Frontenac' in, or 'chateau'?
At least one, right?
Well the search doesn't find it with either of those keywords.
Perhaps the good people from the dev team could let us know how it's supposed to work, and whether they think it does or not.
But at the moment, it's looking to me like another one of those things that are left to the users in the live environment to test.
Amusingly, or perhaps not, Google can find the 'frontenac chateau' thread with no trouble at all.
I'll see if I can find the thread I'm looking for with Google - watch this space.

I presume you are quite pleased with the 55-300mm?
And for a £220 lens, I can't complain about the sharpness. Here's a crop (about 1/9 of the area of the frame) from a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF):

And this is the 100% crop from which it was reduced. Admittedly not out at the long end, but even so.
