We have to consider everyone on the site. A youth could quite easily access this site and legally we have to provide a way to filter out this type of content.
Ok, so as a sensitive wee flower, I can decide that I don't want to see pictures of certain types of nice looking birds and tits, and set my site options accordingly. (Thank heavens - I might otherwise have been utterly corrupted.)

But if the requirement is to protect the world's yoof, isn't an option whereby the members have to censor themselves in order to achieve said protection just a little on the pointless side?

If and when we have a consensus I will approach Admin and see if they are happy with the solution we suggest. Over to you!
So has a suggested solution been put to the Admin people, then, as you suggested would happen at the beginning of the thread?

If you could say a little more about the photography you're planning, it would help us to advise you.

Those three lenses have different focal length ranges - only the DA18-250 goes all the way from wide to long, so in that sense it's the only all-purpose lens of the three.

But 18mm isn't all that wide, and 250mm sometimes isn't long enough.

So you'll need to be more specific if you want meaningful advice.

I don't understand your problem. You've started this thread, yet you say you don't know how to, and you've replied to my post, despite suggesting that you were having trouble with that too.

I'm confused

The DS focusing issues are very real, whether it's just my camera I don't know.
I think people are just completely bemused by the way you're selling off all the lenses without checking the camera out.

It's so incredibly illogical that people are now looking for a hidden agenda to make sense of it.

This was far better, IMO, since edits before any reply are of no consequence. Now, a safeguard has been removed, in that no one can tell (other than by inspecting the dates which takes a lot more effort) whether the post has been edited since the reply.
I have to disagree with regards to edits before any reply being of no consequence. People can read the post and not reply so it has been read and hence inherently consequential.
Well this is true, of course. But although I take your point, I'm not clear it's helpful.

I meant that it's of no consequence in the context of changing the sense of subsequent discussion - if there isn't any subsequent discussion, its sense can't be changed!

The current version is always available for inspection, and in the absence of replies, if it's different from some previous version that is remembered by someone, I can't see that as important.

Anyone replying should, I think, always quote the relevant part of the post, and, out of courtesy, make sure they've read it accurately before commenting.

Otherwise you can get the situation where a reply is drafted over some period of time without quoting, posted, and then doesn't follow directly on from the post it's replying to. Then it just gets confusing, since it's hard to tell what it refers to.

I know this sounds picky, but I think it's basic etiquette.

Are the 500 ftz any good?
I don't have one, but George has two, judging by his sig.

They're TTL, not P-TTL, so you'd have to use them in manual or automatic on a K10D or K100D.

But they've got a fair bit of power, and it's the only Pentax gun, I believe, that can fire a strobed burst of individual flashes, which is a nifty feature if you're into that sort of thing.

BTW, if you want to do floors, have you considered natural light, a tripod, and small apertures in conjunction with long exposures?
