Chris snuck that one in quietly
If there's a cracking deal somewhere else, it's always worth checking - he's very rarely much behind.

If he did interest-free as well, I'd have had a K-3 off him several months ago.

I don't want the grip, though, so it's not quite so appealing. I'll probably get the 18-135 with it when I jump.

£945 for K-3, grip and Flucard ... think I'm in
They don't do interest-free credit yet, AFAIK, but SRS have this combo at £939.

You decide ... this is standing in front of the beach hut.

You might want to get that posterisation problem sorted in time for the airshows

So if the bride does love the OOF abortion that you would have binned does it really matter? You can't be responsible for someone else's tastes
The fact is, though, that the bride doesn't love the OOF abortion because it's OOF. She loves it despite that because she can see whatever else it may have.

Likewise, John's picture would still retain whatever appeal it has to the Facebook mums, if it was in focus - and I bet actually if it was, they'd gush even more.

Obviously, a picture that has some aesthetic quality independent of its sharpness may still be a good picture because of that. Just as it might if it's lit badly, or framed wonkily, or whatever.

Doesn't mean that there's any intrinsic value in the technical faults, or somehow virtue in not striving to eliminate them. Mainstream usually just means 'doesn't usually get to experience any better', and mainstream can usually tell the difference when shown it.

Equally there's no excuse for concentrating on technical perfection at the expense of the soul of the image. But if you can get both (and I'm reminded of this excellent series from the Smegster), the result is better than soul on its own. If they'd all been blurred, the impact would have been lost.

The only thing that seems in focus is the hair to the left of the image. And the closest eye to the camera is very out of focus. For me, this is quite a dissonant effect.

Are you sure your camera doesn't need AF adjustment?

I'd have to say that the almost-posterised effect does nothing to salvage things. Sorry..

Before I read the caption I was assuming it was a macro, and was getting ready to start moaning about rubbish backgrounds and distracting foreground detail.

Has it got a K-3 inside it?

Not sure about the bloke behind you, though...

You'll be getting a K-3 next.

Wear your tin hat then...

I got totally caught out with this one ... my back was to the runway and I was chatting away to someone, turned round just as it came over the top and the lens was at 400mm. Didn't have time to pull it in.
For shame!

Though it is surprising how sometimes a crop can be very effective. I like this - very lucky with the light - presumably reflecting off pale concrete or something?

The gear's up - was it a low pass?
