What`s the problem? Boeing use them in the new Dreamliner so they must be safe to be carried in aircraft surely!

K30 certainly faster on the focus out of the box than the original K5 but after the latest firmware update it does not hunt as before in low light. K5 for me is not a problem I would like a K511S though.

I updated both my K5 and K30. Similarly as Dan I tried both in a dimly lit room, the K30 is much faster on the focus than the K5. When I updated to v 1.13 on the K5 there was a significant increase in AF speed but I don`t think the latest version has made much difference. Just need a bit of time to really give them both field trials. Who knows what else Pentax slipped in?

Back to normal now the twins have been returned to mum and dad. Fish chips n mushy peas doing their bit for body maintenance and a bottle of Talisker looking better than ever. Three days next week freezing to death at Cambridge airport, oh what fun. Now where are the thermal undies.

And a happy Burns night to all of Scotland`s residents and those that climbed the wall. As a Yorkshireman I will have an honorary celebration too... just adding to the numbers.

Mrs Cedric fetched a spade and stiff broom from the garden shed earlier. I think it`s in preparation for Monday morning.

We have only what I can describe as a fine frozen rain falling here in East Suffolk. Trouble is it`s falling on a frozen icy surface. Never mind though been playing around with the Yamaha sound projector. It`s only taken 5 years to set it correctly.
