I remember buying a 4 megabyte memory upgrade for my Amiga in the early 90s for £129.99 OUCH!!!! Claimed to double the speed of my 4mhz Amiga, woah what a difference that would have made when running graphic FX....

It has taken me almost a year to buy one of these 2nd hand & I had to pay £95 for it just a few weeks ago. I would seriously consider buying a new one as they are rare as hens teeth 2nd hand & command a premium price because of the scarcity.

Have bought the Samsung grip for my GX20, damn them being different.

Anyhow quick question.

In the menu there are some options re battery choice

Auto
Body
Grip

In auto mode when does the body decide when to change battery?? Is it when completely dead or with some spare??

Used my grip for first time on Sunday at music festival, shot 860 clicks with the body battery alone!!! Using Body option which is more than I usually get alone.

Also focusing on my Tamron 17-50mm was very much improved speed wise & in locking on, I noticed no difference with my 50-135mm which surprised me. I guess the extra power helps the AF drive in the body. When the body battery started to get a little low AF speed did slow down to normal speed & hunting.

Definately want a K7 now just for the grip with the AF button

My local camera shop which is a Pentax stockist only keeps a KM body & kit lens in stock. How can he expect to get my business when I cannot even handle what I want to buy???

I originally went in there to buy a DA* 50-135mm (which they didn't seem to know what kind of lens this was) when they where £499ish plus cash back, was told they would have to order one which would take at least a week & would cost £699

Another Pentax Pro store I went in which is part of a national chain, I wanted a focus screen, he actually looked on pixmania website added £10 to the price & was told would take 7 days!!!

How can these companies continue trading when pulling dubious tricks like this??? They only have themselves to blame for their own downfall.

Unfortunately Jessops like most british retailers have stopped paying there staff a mixture of basic plus commission & went down the minimum wage plus a little bit more on top. Now that little bit more has not kept pace with the minimum wage & nearly all retail staff are now on minimum wage.

A friend of mine used to work at DSG & saw his pay sink from 21k to 12,000 ouch!!! Will they get enthusiastic staff for the same pay you get in Macdonalds??? Hey at least you get fed in Macdonalds and these minor differences are reflected in a companies staff. A company that pays it staff minimum wage is only doing so because it has to not because it wants to, it would probably want to pay its staff less if it could!!!

I see this in all walks of industry, pay washers you get monkeys, the most ineffective cost cutting a business can make.

85mm A* 1.4 with camera for £545.00 surprised the bidding didn't go up more towards the end.

Was on holiday last week & noticed the plastic surround around the external element where the hood attaches has come lose.

Have just found the receipt from SRS & I bought it on the 8th May last year, will SRS get this repaired for me under warranty??? I assume it only has a 1 year warranty??
