I have just been in my storage cupboard and found some more lenses.
1. A vivitar 80-200mm 1:4.5 macro zoom with a 2x tele converter Pentax pk mount.
2. A Tamron Adaptall 2 SP 52A 70-210mm with macro, this lens has a Minolta mount.
3. A focal 2.8-70mm macro with a 2x auto teleplus converter, also a Minolta mount.
Oh and a Minolta x-300 slr.
The Vivitar is straight forward.
The Tamron is a brilliant lens, so can I get Minolta to pk adapters still and where? If I can get an adapter for the Tamron I will be able to use it on my gx 10 now that I know how to switch to manual focus.
Any unforeseen dangers and warnings will be welcomed.
I'm now going back into my cupboard to see what else I have.

At least here is a question that I can answer.
Make a canvas bag that will hold a sealable container and large enough to hold water too.
Fill the bag with water, drop in the plastic container. use a rope handle to fasten it on the wing mirrors.
You will be able to buy one in the local shops in the middle east but usually the opening is to small for a container. They are called chaguls.

I got the camera last year and haven't touched it until about a month ago and I must have left the manual in the hospital along with my brain.

I do not use auto focusing very often but, I am at the moment because, I do not know how to disengage the auto focus. I set up the effect that I want, shoot and the camera re-focuses for me. I scream at it but it ignores me.
Help needed please!

What I really wish to do is, use a flash unit on a bracket to the side of the camera and a lead to the hot shoe and an independent slave flash to back light or whatever. I do not subscribe to the school that blasts the macro subject fully frontal.
I will be using manual flash. Thanks for the prompt George,("Many people prefer manual flash for macro work"). It took a while to work out what you meant. I know that senility is here.
In retrospect, when using manual flash I will not get the pre flash problem. So I have wasted your time but, the egg on my face is hiding my blushes.

I have just been searching through the net and came across this item, i-Slave, an intelligent trigger.
My problem is that I am new to digital and quite honestly I am very often baffled by this new technology. I was a film man for 50yrs. I have used remote slaves with film but that was years ago and I am now re-inspired to use a camera again.
The idea of the slaves will be for close up work and some macro, some portraits but not from a profi point of view. I do however wish to turn out decent work. I prefer off camera flash
The Pentax and Samsung flash units seem so expensive around £180. Maybe this is an old mans view.
However I may have to bite the bullet and maybe go for a new flash and use the present ones as slaves.

I have two remaining flash units left,
1. A Pentax 160 Sa.
2. A Centon FH 75 with a pentax module.
I believe that the pentax flash can be used on my Samsung gx 10.
The Centon I am unsure about, ref. trigger voltage, etc.
So, can I use these with a slave trigger and which trigger would be recommended?
I would also prefer to use the pentax flash with a bracket on my camera.
Any tips, advice and warnings would be welcomed.

I also sculpt, so I go further back than Pentax.
I was using an ax before the Japanese used pent.
My first slr, a Pentax was bought in Aden in 1960 and since then I upgraded regularly. My Spotmatic died in 1997, when I left it out in a tropical storm in Australia. I have a film still in my sv 1962 from pre dslr days. I will take it in on Monday to see what I have on it, if anything.
